Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Could this be like the infamous Velocity "you have been promoted to the next status level for nothing, congratulations" followed an hour later by "OMG that was a mistake"?

Anyway they have promised it and I'm booking

However: It's say 25000 points for JASA mel-can, but if I go Mel - Can with a Sydney connection it's 85,000 points?? Is it always double or more or have I just chosen the wrong flights?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

If you are on QF791 on June 2nd, then yes you will see me ;)

can you tell me what ballpark figure kind of points that burns? I'm not sure if I am finding very expensive JASAs?

For Syd-Mel-AliceSprings-Syd JASA it was 72,000 points and $125.87

Re: Qantas Double Status Credits...

I got the mail today also, and my flying has been more often than previous this last half year. I take it to read any flights taken within the period specified so long as you registered for it. (I tried registering this morning still dont have the confirmation email). WHat I'm not sure about is a J Syd-LAX trip I booked about a month ago, but will be taekn during the period stated. Do I get double SC for this ?
Only if you booked since April.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Alice springs would be good but if there is a problem with the first flight and i miss the second I am in MAJOR trouble, I have one day only where I can do this trip and have 20 or so appointments the next day

So I have 1130 SCs now
I need 270 more for platinum bu end June
I have a fully flexible trip MEL-SYD-MEL next week. That is 40 SCs return?

So if I fly Mel- Brisbane on a JASA for ~50,000 points and $195, I will get 120 SCs total, that is doubled if I am indeed eligible (are we actually enrolled in double SCs if we werent offered and we didn't register??), which gives me 40 + 240, and I am platinum on 20th July

Can the team here please confirm this all makes sense before I book? Have I missed something? This is my first status run and the OH already thinks I'm insane (I assume that's not an unusual situation when it comes to SRs) so it really needs to work...

That would be a NO....if critical, you should ring QF & ask.

Glad you broke it to him - I didn't want to be have to be the bearer of bad news...

Double SC's rock - as long as you are one of the people who got offered them (and there seems to be a lot at the moment) - certainly makes status runs even more "special"

I'm not that naive, especially after that Velocity escapade!

The email actually said thank you for registering AND BOOKING an eligible flight, presumably the one coming up next week? Maybe I need to wait to see what is credited then. I will call the FF line when they open on Monday.

"Remember you will earn double Status credits^ on all eligible* International and Domestic Qantas flights when you book and travel from April through June 2012. "

"
You must register for this offer via the above registration link in the main text area of this email by 30 June 2012 to be eligible for this offer."

Looks like something isn't quite right. - the email contains no link for registration

updated: huh? I just searched and found the original offer...and pushed the registration button and now I'm registered?? If you didn't register and got the email check your inbox!

Re: Qantas Double Status Credits...

I have the promo as well, can someone tell me
1. how long it takes for the DCS to come trough?
2. its for new PRN's not changed flights on old PRN booking made prior to the promo?

Cheers
Andy

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Glad to hear you got the offer and can register

I got the same "reminder" email today - Thank you for registering to earn double Status credits^ and booking an eligible* Qantas flight

The bonus SC's take 2-3 business days to come through I've found - but the official position is that it can take up to 6 weeks

Re: Qantas Double Status Credits...

In reality it seems to take 2-3 days for the bonus SC's to come through - but the Q offiical position is that it can take up to 6 weeks
The booking needs to be initiaited after the date the offer applies from - I got caught out by a booking made beforehand and modified after qualifying - missed out on a 240 SC bonus

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Thank you.

As long as they 'belong' to June 2012 that's fine - I assume if they arrive after the end of my QFF year I still get my status bumped up?

In any case I have booked

Both of my recent flights BNE-SIN and SIN-FRA saw the double SCs posted exactly 2 days after the flights.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I've got the "Thank you for registering to earn double Status credits^ and booking an eligible* Qantas flight" email as well. First flight in 3 days. :)

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I got the email today as well, even thought I have already done 9 flights that qualified and have one more booked in, which has taken me from maybe making SG, by my July review, to making WP by the start of June. With out any SC runs, just some slightly longer flights to make sure I maximise the benefits.

Have you checked the link provided by red Roo to confirm you eligible?

Re: Qantas Double Status Credits...

I received the offer for double SC's and have made some international flights in Y on QF metal - getting the SC's in a couple of days.

However, I have some trips booked in J on CX metal - and I am wondering if the double SC's apply.

|The original email says "Qantas flights" in the text, then goes on to say the double SC's are awarded on all "eligible" flights. I have read through much of this thread but can't quite find any confirmation. Can anyone help? And hopefully set my mind at ease?

The only link I can find was the one that confirms you want to receive offer emails from Qantas. But in any case I pushed the registration button again before booking and everything is in order as much as can be expected.

I think I ignored the first email - maybe - because I had some big travel booked before end June and was really annoyed that I had booked back in Feb or whenever and was not eligible. I didn't think clearly enough to realise that an unusual amount of business travel in the last 6 months would give me a once in 10 years experience to get to Plat. So will be there on the 23rd of June, now I need to look through AFF all over again to work out what to enjoy on my QF/CX flights at the end of the year!

There are two ways to register:
1. Click on your email link – this method does not require you to log-in but sends a message to your QFF profile to register you (this process is just a bit easier than having to log in).
2. You can visit www.qantas.com/bonusapril then log into your profile – This method will provide you with a confirmation email but is a little more involved. It will also confirm that you have been selected for the promotion.

So, if you were not selected for the promotion, you will not be able to register and you will not be eligible to earn double Status credits.

Registration confirmation: If you are at all concerned that your registration has been accepted, visit www.qantas.com/bonusapril and register again, this will send an email to you. I can assure you though, that selected members who have clicked on their email are registered – no harm in making doubly sure!
