Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

WOTN was the 2010, closely followed by 2012 (as expected). Then 2013 and the 2011 which was at the end of its drinking window and it showed. Very muted on the nose and palate. But at least we drank it.

We were the last to leave the restaurant. Lovely night with @jojen and Mr Jojen, @boomy and Mrs boomy, me and Mrs QF WP and of course @Buzzard

Next one will be a Penfolds St Henri dinner.

I subscribe to Naked Wines, to sample a lot of different wines from up and coming winemakers, and sometimes when I place an order to use up my kitty, they offer 1 to 3 bottles of something they think I might like. My most recent order had a sparkling white and two shirazs - one I would say was a nice soft red for quaffing, but the other was extremely good.
Sam's own description is a Big Red, and it is big on flavour, but not on the tannins and has a nice amount of acid so it should age for another 3-5 years. I poured it into a decanter to let it have a bit of air for an hour, and it was drinking well, but I think another 3 years will be its sweet spot. I've ordered another six to drop into the cellar.
