ZPT is currently approx 17mins away from landing into Cairns operating VOZ795, so no new cabin.

Used fly ahead and flew 1640-1900 I wasn't waiting an extra 3hrs for nothing! Ended up with a 73H BSI fabulous crew and for the sixth time given the option of mushroom pie or prawn curry (none of which I eat) next trip I will be hunting for the EJET woo!

VH-ZPI is back from Christchurch and it looks like VH-ZPJ has taken its spot.

I'm on VA229 this Sunday (20/01/13) MEL-ADL. Can anyone tell me if this bird has been upgraded, or at least how to find the aircraft rego assigned to this flight? Expert Flyer is showing 4 across seating arrangement in J, but only two rows. Does this mean it has been upgraded?

I found a flight that's operating today with VH-ZPH which I can still access the seat map in EF. Looks like EF shows a 1-2 layout for J when it's a re-furbed plane, so at the moment, I'd say your flight does not have a new J cabin layout. However, this may change closer to the date as aircraft are shuffled and scheduled for flights. (I don't know how far in advance they do this.)

Thanks kevrosmith, but how can I do this myself? Do I need to be a paying member of EF?

I searched for the Aircraft regos on Flightaware to see where each of the upgraded planes were, and once I found one on the ground, I could use the flight info to search for that seat map on EF. Once a flight closes for departure, it seems EF is locked out of viewing the seat map, so I had to find one on the ground.

I've got at e190 J flight on the 1st of march.
How likely is it that all upgrades will be done?

They have refurbished 8 of the 18 E190 aircraft they have. So roughly 50% chance of a refurb E190 come March.

If you can get a seat map (say though E/F) you can see what configuration is currently scheduled ...

As of today there are ten refits complete. Another has left / is leaving for refit. Looks like the original March timeline for completion may be a reality.

I flew an old E190 SYD-MEL yesterday in J - pretty....bloody...ordinary

Would be better than the Q400 seat I had for J class on QF two weeks before christmas, and there was no refund or credit from QF for the a/c change!

Just checked my booking in DJ981 in Feb - looks like it's been substituted for an E90 (was a 73H when I booked last year). Hopefully it will be a new one (EF shows 1-2 seating now, but don't know if there will be any swaps before the flight).

VA 981 these days ;)
