Sadly, if they were all using give cards purchased from auto clubs and the like then methinx said discount purchases might become a thing of the past.

I'm sure their actuaries rely on a certain amount of overall "breakage" to justify the discounts to large organisations ...

It's like anything in life that's "too good". The goose can be cooked
But, you know, the AFFers may be just as good at "breaking" their wish cards as the general population. That way everyone, but for those that lose a card now and then, is still a winner

:)

Never lost a wish card yet, its pretty easy to get into a routine with wish cards, make initial purchase then wrap receipt around card & place in wallet, next time you go to use it, simply check remaining balance on receipt when unwrapping card, make purchase and replace receipt with the fresh one.

Really low balance cards I group together and usually use at a self serve check-out at either Big W or Woolworths, using the "split payment" option allows using several low value cards easily without hassles from a checkout operator.

LW, this little trick has saved me over $500 in the past 5 months, so it's really worth learning the trick, I am really lucky that the RAA shop front allows pay & collect for cards so its super easy here in SA

If the RACQ shop front at my local Brookside Shopping Centre allows pay and collect, then I'll be a regular there :D

Added to my research pile.

Thanks for the call cove. Will let you know the fruits of my research

I use the same trick shintaro10x - wrap the receipt around the wish card, so you always know the balance. Much as I dislike self serve checkouts, I might have to start using them for the low balance cards as you have suggessted.

I have found the checkout operators are just as happy to pay through multiple cards. And at Woollies they are able to check the remaining value by swiping the card and use up that value before handing over a new card for the remainder. Not so easy at Caltex where they can't check the value remaining so you need to know it. But again they have always been happy to split the payment over two cards when asked.

I thought DSE was recently sold off by Wollies, might pay to check if DSE gift cards can be used at Wollies ?

same here. saves alot of time at the self serve check outs when you know exactly what's on the card.

Mine was 10c for a $200 spend. That work experience kid is back for the xmas holidays me thinks, then maybe he never has gone.
:) Feedback sent for the last time.

Yes I received the same offer 10c discount for a $200 spend.
I don't think so!
Disppointing as I haven't had an offer for a few weeks. And I certainly wont be using this one.

Just completed my spend $150 before Christmas eve for 1,000 QFF

Actual spend was $153 over several transactions, hence 6.5 QFF per $1 (Plus CC points and standard EDR points)

Mrs Shintaro has also completed her $50 spend for 300 QFF, however junior #3 not completed the $50 qualify spend yet...

Using all three offers the Shintaro clan will achieve 1,600 QFF for an outlay of ~$250, pretty easy for us as regular spend at the local WOW

I figured my account would get an offer this week and I was right.

$50 - $79 6c per litre
$80 - $119 8c per litre
$120 or more 10c per litre

I thought the tide was starting to turn back to the points offers but they still keep giving me the petrol voucher offers. Now, I like voucher offers but they've got to be good for me and better than the competition. I have more 8 cent vouchers than I need from Coles at the moment so I can't see the point of spending $80 to get another 8 cent voucher. I thought last weeks offers were good and I thought that this trend would continue as Monday is still before Christmas and some people will be doing last minute fresh food Christmas shopping. I would have considered spending $80 on my account for a 16 cent voucher which is what my partner was offered last week.

No offers here... We even made out $370 hurdle (from a couple of weeks ago)...

The thousand points or a 30¢ fuel voucher is intriguing... if I took the voucher, and swapped it to fill my car, 150 litres would earn me 2250 points! Very tempted to spend for this...

Didn't think I'd get there, but activated anyway and was very happy yesterday when the family spent $364 in one tx.
