EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

Must have missed seeing this posted? I was going to piggyback this with the 15% off if spend greater than $150.

Enter FRIENDS first for discount, then add SAVETEN14 for further $10.

We started with $277, saving was $50.77 after the two stackable vouchers above. I then used my WISH card (balance was $180) and paid balance on Amex - just a pity I couldn't use the $20 Amex discount (already gone). Mrs QF WP very happy :D. Thanks everybody ;)

Both our cards used this week so that will help us with future offers

Is there a prevailing view about which is the better value, 4c per litre off fuel or 2 QFF pts per litre? I figure that QFF points are worth ~0.5 cents, so the QFF swap is really about 1cent per litre. My gut feel is take the 4cents. But should I be considering other factors like how frequently I fill up, volume, number of 4cpl vouchers that lapse etc?

I always take the 4c discount on the basis that it is something real and tangible now. With Qantas implementing 'simpler & fairer' changes there is no telling what the points may be worth in the future (if anything!). There is certainly no evidence that Qantas will ever increase the purchasing power of the points.

Interesting to note that my email today advising I had completed the three weeks of spending also asked me to "rate this offer". It linked to a simple one page survey asking if I prefer discounts or points etc.

It's either relatively new, in which case I thought you'd like to know. Or I've only just noticed it in which case I'm getting old and should stop denying it and just wear my glasses.

Hating to be the bearer of bad news ....

Same  ...

Hold on - has everyone forgotten the coupon offer from a week ago?

(posted some pages back now) = Staff, friends & family offer.... Came with a barcode.

10% off spend $50 or more
or
15% off your shop spend $100 or more.

I haven't purchased Itunes cards so I can't help you with that one. I think there was a time that you could get points on them and use them to qualify for targeted offers but I get the feeling the rules have changed.

The fuel voucher conversion depends on how you redeem your QFF points.
Lets take a fill of 50 litres of petrol.
Using the 4 cents voucher as cash you would get 4cents x 50 litres saving of $2.00
If you used the voucher for points you would get 2 points x 50 litres which makes 100 points
How much value can you convert for 100 QFF points? The rate varies depending on how you use the points. On a cash basis using the Auto Rewards gift cards, 100 points would get you 66cents. Some members using the 100 points for flights or upgrades would get anywhere from $1 to $4 for the same amount of points.
I don't think the amount of expired fuel vouchers comes into the picture. You can't convert vouchers into points without using them and you can't choose not to get vouchers in return for other rewards.

Now for the devious thoughts....

As the vouchers are NOT dependent on using your EDR card you set the choice to QFF points and when you want a voucher you simply spend $30.01 or so and get a docket with a 4 cents off voucher at the bottom. Unless you fill up too frequently then you can manage your needs that way. Occasionally if I see a long docket in a trolley when i go to get one - I'll grab the docket and often there's a petrol voucher attached. Occasionally there's been dollars off vouchers as well.

Just make sure that if you are doing this (use your Myer One card at the petrol station to double dip) but do not use a gift card that has already been used at WoW - they can track it.

I mentioned it in this thread and another. Stacks with another offer ($10 off $40) instore or online. I saved my Mum $40 off a $210 shop.

Loved the look on the operator's face when my shopping total went from $63 to $7.60 :D

Nice. It looks like with the voucher you had earned was counted in the spend so in theory if you spent $55 you would have paid zero dollars/

Same happened at BWS just now when purchasing beer. Asked for $42. Operator flashed my EDR card and had a double look when price dropped to $32.

Told him 'Magic happens'.

Operator told me they had a print out informing them of the discount for customers.

Received an email yesterday and $30 gift card is on its way.

I received a similar e-mail three days ago. But here's the odd bit..... IIRC, I stuffed it up in Week 1, so I didn't bother with the required spend after that.

It was only when others were posting here that they'd received confirmation e-mails, and I hadn't, that they'd met the required Week 1 spend, that the penny dropped that I hadn't scanned my EDR card for a $6 shop (two 600ml Cokes) in Adelaide. So instead of being $3 over, I was $3 under.

..... Or so I thought. Maybe my wife and/or son just happened to spend the right amounts at the right time, using payment methods that I have no visibility of.

Whatever, I'll accept it.

I now have a $100 EDR bonus on my card. If I don't spend $100 next time does the balance carry over to my next spend or do I have to spend $100 to get the full benefit?

My understanding is that the transaction total before the discount is applied must be over $100. You can't take the discount bit by bit. It has to be done in one transaction and you only have a limited amount of time to use the discount.

Exactly what rainbowgirl said, make sure you use it before the expiry date :)

You don't have the option of an actual gift card?

This was a different promotion to the gift card promotion. The only option for this promotion was to take it as a one off discount which has to be used by a certain time.
