Re: EK upgrade love

The EK love strikes again by the looks of things! They certainly do seem to like us with QFF Status!

No doubt your thoughts of EK are as strong as mine as a result of such love! ( not expected , but very much gratefully appreciated).

J7 ... Y0 ... is a strong indicator

Tonight on check in my row 23 seat was given to someone else apparently and I was given an aisle seat in row 11. :D

Three reported cases of EK love in 24 hours!

Another happy Bunny by the looks of things!

Re: EK upgrade love

End of CNY period, lots of people heading from SE Asia back to Oz.

Indeed, that must be a factor, EK flights are Chock-a-block on many legs to from AUS it seems!

Not on my flight EK404 last night unfortunately... Hope the EKupid will find me on Good Friday!

I hope they do too! One would think you might be in with a chance on a such a travel date.

Did any QFF status you have show up correctly on the BP?

I used the EK booking reference to re-enter my WP number as it was showing Ek nnnnnnn rather than QF nnnnnnn.

It only shows "Frequent Flyer QF0nnnnnn" below my name on the BP. But I happened to see the pax manifest and it did have my status against my name...

I connected to QF616 this morning on the same booking and points and SCs for this domestic sector have already posted!

My EK BP has "QF PLATINUM" on it.

... more on this - I would have been quite happy with 23G - it is a good seat.

To travel in a "good seat" in the class booked is the best to be settled on - anything more is to be appreciated and welcome, but not expected.

Completely agree with your last line- not expected, but very much gratefully appreciated. Last QF flight I flew- LAX to SYD, the CSM didn't even bother coming in to "Welcome", whereas I've had it every single time I fly. I don't mean to rant, but there are many times I feel like a statistic for Qantas.

Re: EK upgrade love

J to F op-ups on QF9 DXB - LHR, EK008 LHR - DXB and EK423 DXB - PER a couple of weeks ago. Got to love those school holidays. It did, however, remind me that I prefer QF F to EK F - I suspect that I'm in the minority.

OMG I am doing this EXACT itinerary EK423 PER-DXB 1/3/2014
QF9 DXB -LHR 2/3/2014

All in J classic award ticket.
QF BRONZE member.
What are my chances of a similar op up? Any chance do you think?

I think there would be a number of people ahead of you in the op-up queue.

On the majority of sectors I have travelled recently on QF international I have been greeted by the CSM, but on a few occasions I have not.
Obviously, when one is greeted by the CSM it does give one the sense of gratitude & appreciation for travelling with the airline & reinforce's ( in my opinion anyway) an allegiance to that airline.

Sometimes , I know that CSM onboard a QF flight really does have a lot to do, & can't always get around to every high status passenger ( as we know there are more than just one or two passengers travelling on any particular flight with gold status & above ).

On the few occasions when I've have not been greeted by the CSM when flying QF I'm still happy to be flying with QF, I'm not one to be overly bothered if I get the greeting or not, but I would have to say that on my two occasions of travelling with EK recently, the greeting has been outstanding & I feel like that EK really take the greeting of high status flyers very seriously.

I couldn't happen to notice that the EK purser ( CSM ) uses an iPad to identify where those passengers are seated on the aircraft similar to QF.

Re: EK upgrade love

Two visits on the Sunday night flight - one from the business class cabin supervisor and, about 25 minutes later, another from the head honcho.

They did have printed lists with them, but subsequent to that, all interactions were prefaced with "Mr <serfty>".

Re: EK upgrade love

Lower those expectations and fly happy!

Ahahahha

My apologies this post came across way to giddy naive school girl then I intended. I'm well aware my bronze status makes me last on the list....BUT...a girl can dream!

Re: EK upgrade love

master of understatement I'd reckon

Yes I understand everyone thank you!

Having said that, just so I understand, in the instance of an over booked flight would an economy seat pax with status get op-up before a business class without status?
Assuming J->F to make room for overbooked Y.
