Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

No promos from Wow, but am combining a two weeks $50 for 6000 Flybuys (worth $30) along with a 1000 and 500pt docket and mail voucher.

See if lack of spend spurs Wow back into action.

As Aldi gets bigger they can afford to promote more... Interestingly in Germany no TV at all

Good luck! My lack of spend on 3 different Wow cards hasn't triggered anything ever. I don't even get the weekly specials emails any more.

There is definitely something going on with some of the Woolworths Rewards accounts. Lack of spend should have triggered a we miss you type of offer. This isn't the first time I've heard of this characteristic of the new system. One of our family members isn't getting offers or other emails at all and the others do get the offers. I think there is a problem in the tracking system for some accounts.

I think there is a problem with the people in head office who think they know better then the customers or store staff and don't listen to them.

I have sent a number of emails to the rewards contact address over the last few months. Have not gotten a single reply.

Another completely useless (to me) - and I assume, non-targeted - offer today of "get $25 for spending $150 online in one shop". **sigh** Don't know how many of these stupid offers I'm going to get before they figure out I've never shopped at Woolworths Online and never intend to.

It looks like it was the same offer sent to lots of people but not all customers. It's targeted in the sense that it was only sent to some people but not targeted against what the customer normally spends, like proper targeted offers.

I'm not going to chase this one even though it was sent to us. I can get $20 Woolworths dollars for spending $80 this week so I'm not going to spend an extra $70 just to get another $5 Woolworths dollars.

I hardly use the rewards card, but delate the emails before opening which give a certain sense of satisfaction.:D

Has Woolies got the QF disease or is it the other way round?

Extra cynical today after getting the first cut tax return from the accountant. Exchange rate blues...

But happy wandering

WOW - have received offers on two cards today that have not received any offers for months, probably at least 6 months. Both have spending targets of 30/40/50 in successive weeks but one card returns 30 and the other 45. Also received a fly buys offer today but weekly spend has increased from 50 to 70 for 4 weeks to return 50.

Finally a reason to shop at the 'fresh food people'.

I have not received a single WWR offer for 8 to 10 weeks now, after a flurry of good offers at the start of the year. I have stopped scanning my WWR card, so 'official' spend has fallen off a cliff.

Do you think their system is smart enough to match CC card numbers to WWR accounts and therefore they can still see your spend anyway?

I don't know the answer to this but if you want to stay anonymous, buy discounted gift cards and use theses to make the purchases where you don't scan your card.

Unless there is a good "card discount" - pay with cash...
If they can track who uses that we are all in trouble...:mrgreen:

And how would you pay for the discounted gift cards? Cash? That's the only way you'll stay anonymous as the discounted gift cards have a card number which when used can be tracked back to the credit card used to purchase the gift cards in the first place.

Or if you are located close to the top end of the devious/paranoid scale (anyone like that Mel Gibson movie?)...

You ask a friend/colleague who collects points rabidly (not that any of us would know people like that) but does not bother with WWR (for example) if they can buy the 5% off GCs for you and you will give them the cash today.

They get points and cash advance. You get big brother/little sister looking at someone else....

For the next step (where family has multiple accounts) you ensure that you have a different GC to use for each family WWR card.

Permanent markers CAN be used for good not evil!

I don't think they can track all the gift cards. I get mine from RACV. I know that RACV track who buys each gift card but I doubt they hand this information over to Woolworths. The same set of gift cards are used on all of our family member accounts but this hasn't affected the type and frequency of the offers we receive. As I see it, each account is being treated separately.

I different CC's to purchase from the WoW EGC portal, hopefully that confuses them enough.

Just received targeted offers for 3 members of our family.

It's a 4 week offer this time but the reward doesn't come until the end of the 4 weeks. It's a little bit like the 4 week offers from Flybuys which is only paid at the end of the 4 weeks.
The deal for each account is to spend $40 each week in one transaction to receive $30 in Woolworths dollars at the end of the 4 weeks.
The offer starts next Monday, the day after the current promotion ends.

This offer isn't as good as the current offer percentage wise but still offers around a 20% return in a delayed form. The current offer is around 25% return credited as soon as each transaction is completed.

We'll probably take up 2 of the offers. I'll have to keep careful track of which cards to use and when to spread out the transactions.

We've just started a 4 week offer with flybuys which has a $50 target each week for a $50 reward at the end (in points form). I should be able to balance this flybuys deal plus coupons and docket deals with 2 of the Woolworths rewards offers. I think the stockpile will go up a little bit but I'll be cutting down the number of offers we take up after these offers so that should balance out okay.

I received a similar offer today (after several months of no targeted offers at all), however mine is spend $80 for 4 weeks and earn $50 and, as you mentioned, the bonus WW$ aren't credited until the end of the 4 weeks. Percentage-wise mine is only about a 15-16% return. I won't be using it anyway - the offer requires me to spend the $80 in one transaction, which is way above what I would normally spend in one shop at Woolworths - I'd possibly be able to achieve that for one week, but definitely not for 4 weeks in a row.
