Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

and this just came through from CashReward - how to get more REAL dollars from WoW.
Discount up from 5% to 5.5%.

Offer ends June 14 or earlier (hmmm marketing ploy perhaps to get the sales up going into the June 30 quarter end - no I'm not a cynic but a realist!).

Am I too much like Oliver?

Wondering if there will be a Big W offer coming hard on its heels perhaps?

We do buy ham, not chicken, occasionally beef, roast pork and Strassburg. No idea what Devon or Polony are. Salami, the sliced meat I buy most, is not included! Who dreams these things up?

Selected sliced/shaved meats aka amongst biggest margin available products.

Can never understand when I see people buying say, Frankfurters, from the deli in reasonable quantity (500g or more) and yet normally within 4 or 5m are the coolers with 250g/500g/1kg packets of same item normally at $2-$3 /kg lower price.

Some years back (pre-internet) the woman ahead of me was kept waiting while the deli person walked over to the cooler and picked up 2 x 1kg packs, came back, opened them to add to the 3 or 4 Frankfurters that had been left in the deli display cabinet. Later I saw the woman at the checkouts with the white wrapped parcel of just over 2 kg.

Fools and their money...

It's not always the same product.

As well the "on sale" deli items are often less expensive than the "pre-packs". But then, WW's deli can't compete with at least two of the local IGAs in terms of variety or price. My only "regular" WW deli item is now the "swiss style" cheeses and even then I need to ask to get it sliced since only shaved is in the cabinet display.

Happy wandering

Fred

is that like Spam?

Not as spicy. Devon has a fairly plain favour which is probably why it is popular in school lunches. The article linked to in another post is a fairly good description.

I'm shopping at Woolworths today to take up one of my targeted offers and I'm going to buy some Devon.

Actually the flavouring sometimes depends on the brand. The Coles Devon has a stronger flavour than the Woolworths one but my preference is the one stocked by Woolworths.

Fritz is the name used in south Australia. Devon or Luncheon sausage is the similar product in NSW. Some butchers in SA, in particular the Barossa, make extremely high quality fritz that is definitely worth a try. I have reached the age where rediscovering my youth has become amusing. Hence on the rare occasion I partake of the Devon sandwich with great enjoyment. The bread must be a coughpy white variety, preferably Vienna. The tomato sauce store bought and real butter of course. Fine dining indeed.

I don't know how Neil Perry could possibly compete with that!

It's truly amazing what you can learn on AFF: Real meat

It really is!!

Hahaha, growing up we called it Luncheon or Luncheon Sausage, I've had many luncheon sausage and tomato sauce sandwichs when going to school !!

OK, Luncheon Meat, I know. Although, I haven't eaten it in some time. It is still bewildering why WOW included a product that I have never bought and excluded a product that I buy almost every week. Ah well....

H E L P...

I realise I am a 'mere male' so there's obviously something I'm doing wrong.

Do you have a link to a Cashrewards page that has the offer for Big W?

Try as I might (logged in and all) all I find for Big W is this:
Big W search.jpg
Not a single GC offer in sight.

Sniff, sniff, sniff...

They've withdrawn the Big W ones at the moment. It's possible that Woolworths will release them before the expiry date of the offer. I was hoping to get one or two to use in the big toy sale starting soon. I don't want to buy more than that as it's very difficult to convert Big W egiftcards to the physical Wish cards. Most stores are starting to crack down on the practise. Rumour has it that some of the links and coding were wrong in the offers and that it was possible to buy the Woolworths egiftcards and the Big W egiftcards in the one transaction and get 8% discount on both. I think they are trying to fix the bug before they offer the Big W cards again.

Noooooooo!

Thank you for the prompt (upsetting) response.

I was going to do a trial run at swapping the Big W before the large order.

Back to the drawing board.

One bug bear I have is the delay for Woolworths to email the eGCs through. It goes from a computerised system (our entry) to a manual checking process.

The longest delay I've had in the last year was just over 50 hours (across a weekend admittedly). Through the week 41 hours.
