Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I thought this email today was a little sneaky:

"Hi DrRalph, want to earn $10 Woolworths Dollars?‏

Hi DrRalph,

Earn Woolworths Dollars when you shop.

Spend $100 or more in a single transaction at participating Woolworths supermarkets and earn $10 Woolworths Dollars*. Simply activate your offer and remember to scan your card when you shop.

Offer available from Wednesday 22 June to Tuesday 28 June, 2016."

Sounds like a good deal I though. Especially when combined with the $10 for spending $100 coupon on the front of this weeks catalogue.

But then right down the bottom of the same email I find this:

"You may also see this offer in this week's catalogue; by activating we're simply making it easier for you as a Woolworths Rewards member by loading this great offer to your card."

So a pointless offer indeed!

Yes, it's very annoying when they dress up a general offer as a targeted offer.

I'm in week 4 of 4 to get 2 lots of $30 Woolworths dollars. I haven't had a reminder email this week yet but the receipts last week indicated I only had one week to go.

In the same postion with two of our family's accounts - however at least we remember!

No reminder emails yet for the 2 accounts about to complete week 4 of 4.

Mum received the targetted offer of spend $100 for $10 Woolworths dollars but since it's available to all she may as well spend $100 on my $80 offer and get an extra $10 off.

This is great but I guess we are lucky we have 3/5 accounts receiving regular offers.

No targeted offers but this week blueberries on special for $5.50.So bought 2 punnets.Get $1 in WW pesos + instant $10 off.Free blueberries!

Wow surprised to see this thread still going. After the introduction of the ww pesos I've not seen a single offer for either of the 4 accounts, other than useless offers like spend $150+ online for $5 pesos.

Due to this the IGA/Coles/Aldi now makes up at a guess 80% of my weekly shop, as I'll go where the specials are, whereas before the introduction of pesos ww was 100%.

Had no offers from WoW since the too-high-spend-target multi week one I had a few weeks ago. Haven't had any from coles either, looking like Aldi might get a few of my dollars this week at this stage.

No offers received for weeks now and that has significantly increased my spend at Coles and Aldi. My only visits to WoW now are for advertised specials. It seems WoW have succeeded in creating a loyalty program that drives customers to the competitors. I am motivated by QF points offers and I note the thread related to the partnership between QF and WoW is today suggesting it is all over.

Actually, that sort of offer was the last I had. Maybe because I snubbed it, WOW are now snubbing me.

I, for one, have had no problem spending around 2.5k at Coles so far this year and have been glad to receive 60k FB points in return. That's a return economy trip to Broome for Mrs excel and I.

Even on the old wow targeted offers with qff I wouldn't have come close to that.

I dont swipe my wow card any more. Never earnt anything since they got rid of qf, just targetted junk emails listing items i buy. They are just coughs as far as i am concerned and i now shop at coles, aldi and local IGA. Card is excellent for hotel rooms that require a card to keep power in and if forgotten, just get wooolies to send a new one at their expense

Exactly right, ever since they went with the new peso option I've stopped swiping the card. Why would I swipe it when there is zero incentive to do so? I remember when the new system started I kept a keen eye out for the orange sticker with peso incentives, at times I walked the entire store and saw maybe 10 of them total.

What a top job those WW folks have done. Bravo, not.

One of the biggest mistakes WW has made with the orange stickers is that the line items that "earned WW$" are not identified on the receipt. I buy what I need to buy (and on special) and occasionally will earn a few WW cents. Think I'm up to WW$9 and some change but most of the time I have no clue where I earned.

Happy wandering

Fred

I did one of my $40 WW shops earlier today. At the end of the transaction my $30 Woolworths dollars appeared on the screen and on my receipt. I've just checked my account and it says I will get $30 off the next shop, whenever that happens to be. The reminder emails just came through for the accounts with the offer. I'm impressed that they've credited the funds instantly. Hopefully things work well on Friday for the second transaction.

It will be really funny if the next targeted offer has a required spend of $30. The checkout operator will wonder what is going on when I have to pay less than $1 when I finalise the transaction.
