Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I was on a London to Budapest flight back in April

Sitting in 3C and the guy in front of me in 2C looked so familiar but i couldn't recall where

Anyway spent a good 10-15 mins talking about his carry on (it was a beautiful bespoke briefcase, the coughpy BA premium cabin etc) as we were deplaning and heading through immigration and baggage. He shook my hand, wished me a good holiday and left

Not 2 minutes later i worked out who he was - Rufus Sewell! He was there to film the new Hercules Movie

Kicking myself I didn't recognize him earlier :(

On a recent VA flight to BNE, sat next to Tim Finn in row 3. Paul Kelly wasn't happy that he had to sit across the aisle (they were touring together).

He was probably happy to be treated as a "normal" person.

A certain member on here (but not particularly active poster) met someone famous in the T4 AA Flagship Lounge.

The rather petite lass, had a large entourage with her. Said person was sitting next to her and he asked what she did. Apparently, she seemed genuinely relieved that someone didn't know who she was, and was all smiley and answered "oh i'm a singer".

It was Rihanna :)

Rihanna who?

Barbados born singer. Here is a link (don't know whether it will work) to one of her songs which has 300 million views Rihanna - Diamonds - YouTube I don't know for sure but she is probably one of the top 4 or 5 grossing female singers in the world. Won a number of Grammy awards.

I'm dreadful with names. Pretty good with faces. I'm more likely to go up to someone famous (If l was the type to do this sort of thing) and call them the wrong name.

Well there you go. Still not ringing a bell for me. How can that be when she has sold so many hits. Guess I'm not a fan of current styles.

I have a couple of more meetings that I had forgotten

Back in the mid 1990's I was flying from Sydney to Melbourne in J. The guy next to me was an Australian Actor Andrew Williams, he was quite famous at the time as he was playing in Melrose Place. We had a brief chat about the L.A and his role on Neighbours. Nice guy

I think it was late 1990's/2000'2 but around the the peak of the Killing Heidi days. I was upperdeck on a UA flight to LAX when i was asked to move downstairs as couple wanted to sit together and i had an empty seat. Anyway i was moved to the main J Cabin and seated across the isle some Ella Hooper! FF 2 weeks and I ran into her and the band again back in MEL. I had come off a Singapore flight, they had come off a LAX flight and she remembered me. Small world :)

The best was Glenn A Baker. We were seated together in Y and he was hysterical. coughing how channel 10 were only flying him in Y, they had no car organized for him etc etc. Anyway we spent a good couple of hours chatting and i offered to have my hire car driver drop him off at the Como Centre after i had been dropped off at home in the CBD

A couple of weeks later a signed copy of his book appeared in my mailbox. He had asked for my business card and sent the book as a small thank you present

Last one! I sat across from the Winner of the 1st Amazing Race Australia last year. He was flying down to Melbourne for the races. Had a quick chat to him as we had mutual friends (I know one of the other teams on that series)

Long Time ago when Ian Turpy was in his prime on Price is Right I sat next to him on flight to Sydney, I acted like I had no idea who he was, he loved it, said it was fantastic to be treated as normal person as he little private life when out in public, we drank a few bourbons.

Years later I was sitting in the beer garden of Newport Arms hotel on a Sat, afternoon with a stack of friends, there was Ian, he saw me came over for chat, my friends were all very impressed, I said after he left "I know him well we went to school together!", told them all later it was a joke when we were all back on our mooring in America's Bay, it brought the house down.

I sat next to serfty in VA J on Sunday afternoon, I hear he is pretty famous :p
