Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Senator Ron Boswell on QF509 this morning.

Looking very old and very tired......reclining the whole way down in 1B - the best seat your money can buy.

The thing I forgot to mention about Doug Cameron, was the use of the hot towel. I always try to use the towel on my face first and then my hands. But I notice everyone else invariably use it in reverse. I can only think of the germs being transferred from hands to mouth. Anyone Doug Cameron was also a face then hands person.
Face then hands for me too - and for the same reason... I smell a poll coming on! :)

In BNE J lounge yesterday evening, Bruce Hawker, PM Rudd's Chief of Staff. Pacing back and forward constantly talking on his mobile and checking the screen for texts or email.

Recognised him because of story in weekend Financial Review, and because I once worked in the same building when he was Chief of Staff to Bob Carr as NSW Premier.

Bruce Hawker is actually PM Rudd's political adviser. Jim Murphy (ex Treasury) is his new COS this time round (and will likely be getting CL membership!).

My apologies. I am sure AFR stated that he was COS. Anyway he was certainly very busy and agitated in the BNE J Lounge. I was surprised to see him - thought he would be CL.

No need to apologise! I imagine working for KRudd could make anyone agitated! That said, I agree, I'm surprised he's not CL. He has been in charge of most of Labor's campaign strategy - state and federal - for the last decade. Challenging gig for him this time around.

I flew to Canberra the Subday afternoon before the last sitting week. Julia Gillard was still PM. VA E90 ex Adelaide. All six J seats occupied by pollies - ALP Minister Mark Butler, ALP backbenchers Nick Champion, Steve Georgianis, Alex Gallagher, Anne McEwen and Liberal Cory Bernardi. Alp backbencher Tony Zappia behind me in 4C. I was in Y in 3C. Next to me? The most pollie on the flight, Penny Wong. She said she booked late - order of precedent does not apply!

Probably isn't CL in his own right just yet & as Kev was heading to FNQ & PNG wouldn't have been able to be guested in. He'll have to get a wriggle on if he wants his own CL membership.

Saw Kev's BBJ take-off from BNE around 1050 yesterday & tracked it on www.flightradar24.com heading to CNS.

Perhaps Kev had given Bruce a deadline to come up with a new name for the carbon tax & he was brainstorming colleagues for ideas before Kev rang from POM.

OT but how do you get the hot towel onto your face without it touching your hands first?

Which is only possible on the first pass (hands on one side, apply to face). Then to apply to hands, one must grasp the side which you have just used for your face - unless you squeeze it and throw it in the air and catch the same side and repeat squeeze. Thus cross contamination is highly likely

With great difficulty  But basically as others suggest use the untouched side on the face first. Then hands and it doesn't matter which side. Certainly not looking for aseptic procedures, just to keep the ecoli from the escalator handrail away from my mouth. ;)

I was imagining some sort of Harry Potter manoeuvre the same as Flashback

Saw Don Farrell & wife Nimfa on QF750 (ADL-SYD) on Sat 20/7 sitting in 2A & 2B. Said G'day mate, what r u up to? Replied he and Nimfa were off to see Man U playing in Sydney.

Mrs Buzzard and I retreated to 6E and 6F hoping a glass of wine might be sent. No such luck. Didn't see them in the lounge so am beggining to wonder if there is a secret lounge in ADL?

Scott Cam SYD Jlounge this afternoon.....had a laugh with him - really good bloke!
