Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I guess so, in much the same way that The Terminator or Sarah Connor is famous but not Big Arnie or whatshername. :p

See one could argue that Arnie is independantly famous of just being Terminator. Sigorney Weaver is probably the name you were chasing, but you could argue she's not as famous as Arnie and will always be associated with Sarah Connor. Arnie has a bit more recognition even indepeandantly from Terminator. Although he will always be associated with that role too.

I think we're straying off topic. :rolleyes::D

I suspect a lot of these rumours about Alan Jones' requirements are nothing more than urban myth.

I sat behind him on A380 SYD-SIN in June - I was in 2A, he in 1A. It was his first flight on the A380, so he can't be that well-travelled in QF F at least.

He was ecorted on to flight, introduced to FA, and happily accepted a glass of champagne (Taittinger, I think) and nibblies like most other people. He slept basically the whole flight, before having a bite to eat just prior to descent. His interactions with the staff seemed no different than any other passenger, nor theirs with him, although he struggled somewhat with the complexity of the suite controls.

Uuuuuum Linda Hamilton, not Sigourney.

One could argue that as well for Bernard Hill or any actor type. It is always the character that is famous and the actor is famous for playing the character.
Sigorney Weaver? You really don't know anything about famous people do you :p :D Linda Hamiliton played Sarah Connor.

Is it off topic to define what is a famous person in a thread about spotting famous people?

Jessica Mauboy on SYD -DRW. Last July. She was in 1st row of whY me in last of J. She wore giant sunnies to the J class toilet. Seemed to be signing autographs for FA's to give passengers down the back. Chatted at carousel to her and she seemed pretty nice. My bags came off first :D

some four years ago in LAS, I saw the (in)famous Don King, boxing promoter, disembarking from a flight in the arrival hall. Had 4 or 5 fellows in tow.

Flying Melb-Sing-Lon last year. Richard Branson and daughter in the QF lounge after the Grand Prix win. Kept to himself. I noted that QF provided no extras for him (apart from first class which I guess he paid for). Even if the enemy, I thought QF might have accorded him a bit special treatment. Joined the queue for security screening. Even had a chat to him. Good guy.

what class were you flying poss?

About two years ago, I preceded Dita von Teese through LAX T4 elite security.

Needless to say, I was not the focus of attention ...

- A few other politicians I can't recall, however I can remember some politician (CL) who I think could have been in the SA Parliament downing 3 G/T's and 2 Meals on ADL-CBR flight, and had clearly had some in the lounge before. And she was a tiny woman!

- Various footy teams incl. Perth Glory, North Melbourne, and a few others I can't recall.

I am still hopeless recognising (and don't really care anyway) "so called" famous people.

Thought I recognised Peter Garrett in 2A on a BNE-SYD flight a few weeks ago when we were waiting for the front door to be opened. I had to ask the person behind me to make sure. He is a very very tall person.

Also sat next to a couple of Wests Tigers Toyota Cup players on a BNE-SYD DJ flight back in July after they had beaten Brisbane at Suncorp. Had an interesting chat with the captain who appeared to be in his late 20's early 30's. The rest of the players were in rows around us and the best I could say for them is they acted extremely childish.

What is it with sportsmen who think they may be famous and their behaviour in public?

Indeed she was Ripley.
Believe it or not!

Did he look upon the food he was served in J with contempt / critical regard:?:

And I hope whoever was serving him took care in carefully plating up his food

Hehe, I was the one who served him, and he seemed to enjoy it, we don't really have to 'plate' anything except for cheese and fruit, so not much to worry about there ;)

Still was a bit nerve-racking to say the least, ;)
