Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Lots of athletes from the Cuba cohort for the Olympics having who arrived on a BA flight from MAD (bags came to the same carousel as my flight from CPH).

Saw Wayne about a dozen times over the weekend. He had the room next to us at the CP in auckland. Nice guy, even helped us up in the lift when we wrangling young .777.

So are we to believe mini 777 has been now contracted to league rather than ping pong for 2025?

Julie McDonald as our Conference MC at the QT hotel. They employ good looking staff, very funky and eclectic hotel.

Julie had some great Olympic stories - she is infamous as Dawn Fraser, having purloined an Olympic Flag from a flagpole as well as swimming naked - neither time getting caught.

I still remember her as a diminutive little swimmer - she grew up afterwards :D. She can also whistle -putting most men to shame. She likes wolf whistles ;)

I think Dawn came clean about that and said it wasn't her ?

In my years of flying I really haven't had that many famous people. Only a few.

10 years ago I was on a DL flight from LAX-SLC in J just prior to Sundance and the cabin was packed with various Hollywood types. I was kind of impressed to be directly across the aisle from Ian Holm (remember this was the height of the LOTR mania).

Other then that, about 8 years ago, on a family holiday in Hawai'i, we where in the QP on the way back when a gentleman sat down in the seat next to me. Naturally I didn't pay one bit of attention and went back to reading the newspaper. On the plane later, my mother asked do I know who I sat next to in the QP. It turned out to be John Farnham, who I didn't even notice, recognise or pay attention to! (And apparently a couple of people came up for autographs as well - I clearl was in my own little world!)

And in keeping with my ability to totally not recognise a celeb right next to me, last year, while I was at the airport getting my money changed for a weekend away in Singapore, my travelling companions told me later I was right next to Kate Cebrano(and due to the Travelax being a little busy, I was standing right next to her for a good five minutes!).

I also seem to have a uncanny knack with being often on the same flights that is sprinkled with the Brisbane Broncos. But since I am a Rugby Union fan, they don't mean that much. Hahaha. Now if I ended up sitting next to Scott Higginbotham or Saia Fainga'a, I'd be a total fan boy!

He's a wonderful father, and has been extremely dedicated to his children with their issues and all.

Last Friday night in Singapore, I was sitting across from Karl Stefanvoic and Richard Wilkins in the Qantas Club, I also bumped into Georgie Gardner and Stevie Jacobs and their kids as I was leaving the lounge, the kids were having fun climbing over one of the couches and running around a little bit.

Have already reported standing beside Sean Connery in Istanbul but have now had dinner with Sir J Bond-not James but those in mining may know him.

I doubt he is classified as "famous" but Basil Zempilas was on a recent flight from Perth to Melbourne. The great one was only one seat away from me!

Saw Sandra Sully in J on a DJ flight to Bne yesterday. My +1 recognised her; I did not recognise her sans makeup etc ;). The FAs were swanning all over her and her step daughter.

I saw kpc and kpc +1 with some other frequent flyers in the BNE Virgin lounge yesterday, do they count as being famous :p
