Fewer Suites, but larger and plusher coming....

I didn't think London had been confirmed yet?

Wasn’t is basically deduced due to the number of seats being sold on one of the flights compared to the others?

In any event, where would people think/guess might be next?

LHR makes sense. I made a speculative booking on SQ305 so am looking forward to it being confirmed!

So the first one is running between Sydney and Singapore. Who has tried it?

only in J and was great!

F.. I can only imagine.... ;)

We just used 2 Suites each in the old model A380 and that worked really well on Saver Miles. Seven Suites taken so we turned it into nine used.

wow. got any spare unused pyjamas in that case ;)

My procedure goes like this. PH Rare in The Private Room at Changi followed by Krug, icy Vodka with the caviar and the French red with the main meal to go to lights out.
PJs are committed to our group of six.
No copying is necessary as some love Dom champagne.

Mrs Deka2 and I were lucky enough to try out the new suites last weekend SIN-SYD in 1F,2F.
There have been plenty of pictures and comments in the press but for what it’s worth here are mine

Pros
Such a great amount of space. I paced out from the door to the corner of the suite and it was 4 small steps.
Pictures do not do the Suite justice.
The 1 suite is 5 sq m and the 2 suite is 4 sq m, so between us we had 9 sq m of space.
The seat is very comfortable, but the leg rest could be a bit longer.
The TV Monitor is massive at 32”.
There are plenty of places to store small items and a wardrobe for you’re carryon..
The F side bathroom is massive, and a great place to freshen up and get changed.

Cons.
When the doors are open you can look across at the person in the adjoining Suite. This is quite off putting and gives the staff more work, having to close the door every time they come and go.
The bed is a good size, but a bit hard.
With the seat set up for dining we could just carry on a conversation between ourselves.

Overall we had a great time, and would do it again in a heartbeat, but would not be too upset if we were in the old suites.
There were two FA’s to look after 5 passengers, and as usual they were fantastic.
I’m not too keen on the male amenity kit, with the “after shave” being replaced by a candle.

The biggest problem for a couple will be actually getting 1/2F or 1/2A, as I can see many single people booking 1A or 1F essentially blocking the joint suites.

What?? Seriously? Bizarre.

An electric one, or a "real" one (which is even stupider on an aircraft)?

I think the amenity bags are average. Even though you can get toothbrush and paste etc, it would be better, imho, to have them in the kit with some lip balm instead of perfume (or a candle???).

I tried to swap my Amenity Kit to a female so I could give it to my daughter.
I have done this several times in the past with no problem, but on this trip I was informed they only carry what is required for the booked passengers.

In addition to this, I believe that I read somewhere that the kits differ if you are departing SIN or other ports.

On my flight last week out of SIN they only had male kits (2F&1M in F). They were very apologetic.

Oh @cove, they were still serving DP in TPR on the 2nd. I take it that it has now gone back to the PH Rare?

Because there were four of us travelling in Suites together we asked in The Private Room for the PH Rare Jessica. I think it could still normally be Dom Perignon but they found PH Rare quickly as my son and his +1 had talked about how nice it is.
Yes it is lovely.
