Fewer Suites, but larger and plusher coming....

Maybe I should slow down when I walk past the F lounge to get to The Private Room but you get escorted.
Others do crayfish that I have never done.

The biggest problem for a couple will be actually getting 1/2F or 1/2A, as I can see many single people booking 1A or 1F essentially blocking the joint suites.
Well, isn't it the same issue with the current/old suites? Single pax booking the middle suites?
Also, if you don't mine my asking, did you manage to book Saver awards for the new suites?

Not the same. Old suites have eight single window suites and 2 double suites in the middle. Most solo pax book single suites to ensure window (3 windows in some) and not sit next to stranger in the middle in case cabin gets full. New suites are only 6, all single window suites with four of them can become double by lowering down the wall in between (similar to EY apartments) so will be much harder for couples to get them.

Ooh now that’s exciting. We are possibly flying to the states in April/May - have suggested to Master FM that we come out for his birthday, but haven’t had a commitment from him. Was looking at possibly doing a Syd-sin-hkg -Sfo - getting new suites on two legs would be a deciding factor to go that way.....

Congrats to all the lucky people getting the new A380s to LON and HKG. Alas I am on SQ308, however heres hoping we pick up the Paris route.

I am on SQ 308 too.

However even though I would love to try the new Suites, given a choice of this "all day" flight over the the "all night" SQ322 I would still stick with the 308 as I chose it so that I can maximise the benefit of being in First Class. Getting on the 322 it is very late and if flying from Oz one will be tired, not really needing to eat only really leaving breakfast when you wake up. On the 309 as it leaves at 9am (11am MELB time) I will order the right dishes to make the breakfast a lunch, and then have the lunch as dinner later. This gives me the full flight to enjoy all the F perks including the two nice meals, the Krug, full wine list, service etc as well as use of the Private Room (I will use that for dinner when I arrive the day prior and for breakfast on my day of departure from SIN.

Fortunately this time I am not rushed for time going over and so have chosen to maximise my in-flight experience over quicker arrival time.

Hopefully my Suite back will get changed to a new Suite ...but alas that is from FRA in July and I have seen no rumours on the new Suites flying on that route yet :(

I’m booked on SQ321 J on 6 June via velocity. I’m wondering if it’s worth trying to change to SQ317 on 7 June to try the new product. Thoughts?

I’ve also booked 308 to maximise two day flights from Australia to London plus dinner and breakfast at TPR. Did that last month, it was good fun and will do it again in April. Got new suites on 232 but flight is too short to test the new product. Connecting to 322 will be perfect to get the full day/night experience of the new suite and bed. Will try to swap close to date but not keeping my hopes up.

Woohoo, what a bonus! Now SYD-SIN-HKG will all be on the new suites in March!

Admittedly I was hoping to try new suites + old suites for a comparison, but I would like the record to reflect that I'm not complaining! Not bad for a speculative booking made a year ago at the pre-2017 devaluation rates, huh? ;)

Awesome, well done. Hope to see a trip report or some photos from you.

I’ve just had an email about seat change and log in to see SQ860 changed to 6 seat F for our early March flight. Happy times! First suites for me and straight to new model...
Gotta love that, was it a saver, that would be even better!

Yeah, it’s part of a rather extended Asia and Southern Africa trip. Originally booked SYD-SIN-HKG to kick the trip off and tick SQ Suites off the bucket list. Couldn’t get suites on the SYD-SIN leg (though I’ve a few options still waitlisted) so picked HKG as the Asian start to the trip to get on SQ860. Pre devaluation so 63,750 Miles and maybe $400 or so each. The wife thinks I’m crazy as our destination is South Africa for starters and we are travelling from Brisbane to Sydney to head to Singapore and then HKG... but well worth the effort to experience the high life...
