PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanks. Is that the case for both legs? Looking a the QANTAS website only that much was available for purchase for the whole way, but for the second leg it seemed more was available. Would QANTAS upgrade both legs or nothing?

If the upgrade request is for a single passenger and the "upgrade at the gate" option was selected only the second leg of the flight will be upgraded.
You are right, there are many J seats available on the DXB-LHR June 21: F2 A2 J9 C9 D9 I0 U1 W7 R7 T7 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 E9

Svstrider was looking for loadings QF12 JFK-SYD 08June2016:

Loadings at this point in time are relatively light. so maybe your upgrade chance will be better than in a sardine can loading

Thanks. In the case just the second leg is upgraded I assume they would just charge the points for the second leg?

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Does anyone with an EF sub wish to check QF880/881 on 11-July for me? As presaged by previous question, I'm rather hoping to jump up into the nicer seats from down back. I can book another day if no luck.

Sorry this isn't really the thread for these sorts of questions (in my view) but anyway 11th July has no U showing on the 880/881 right now, however 444/864 in the afternoon has U3, so perhaps an overnight could work.

you can just look on qantas.com anyway and where a Business reward seat shows up, that indicates U availability you could upgrade into. (for domestic)

good luck

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Looking for some thoughts.
EF shows QF73 2nd July SYD to SFO as J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0

Im in Y+ and looking at the EF seat map i can only see 6 seats either free or blocked off. So how can the remaining Y+ buckets W & R say 9 available?

So is it one of those things where one of these is wrong or does it indicate a good chance several of Y+ have upgrade requests in or will be OpUp'd to J?
There are plenty of free J seats however that could just be them not selecting seats.

Someone changed the title heading

Actually this is the proper tread: "Flight availability loadings upgrade probability" Someone just changed the heading.

Re: Someone changed the title heading

I suspect a mod has moved those posts to the correct thread.

Sorry for the confusion: I has asked for my post in another threat to be moved here!

Onwards and upwards, eh?

It's as simple as Qantas making use of J seating for W prices.

QF 8 July 4th Uprade chance

HI all,
My fiance is flying out on QF 8 in in 14 hours and i put in an upgrade for her. Im Platinum, shes gold. Shes on a one way economy ticket. Currently in a paid exit row seat.

Upgrade to busines (with tick for Prem Econ if fails) has been on for 2 weeks.

Looking online the plane looks empty, but nothing has been processed, is this normal to wait so latE? iM use to my upgraes coming in a lot sooner, and i thought Gold would be much the same especially getting my priority of plat on the upgrade?

Thanks all :)

Re: QF 8 July 4th Uprade chance

Are you looking at the Seat map, or the fare loading when you mention the flight looks empty?

It is also worth noting that your WP status does not get considered for your fiance, so the upgrade is based on her SG status alone.

Re: QF 8 July 4th Uprade chance

Today's QF8 does look very empty in all classes. I don't know why it's taken so long to clear, but I wouldn't be too worried about not getting the upgrade...
