PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

i am plat1.
coming back thurs 25th Aug QF74 from San Fran - same deal but too early to tell I guess?

HI there is a thread for these questions Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

In the meantime loadings for QF7 are:
F9 A9 P0 J9 C9 D0 I0 U0 W9 R9 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N0 Q0 O0 G0 X0 E0
So no upgrade fares available but still more than 9 seats available in the business cabin so it for you it looks pretty good.

Loadings for QF74 are:
J9 C9 D9 I9 U0 W9 R9 T9 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X0 E0
Basically the same story when you disregard the lack of an F cabin.

I'm tempted to say that if you are P1 you can almost certainly afford your own Expert Flyer subscription but that would be unkind.

Re: Sydney - Dallas 30th July: upgrade chances

Thanks for the help - much appreciated.
so pleased you didn't say what you were tempted to say - would have been a real put down
for someone seeking advice.
P1 simply means "flies a LOT" not wallet heavy, not expert in AFF or in other websites.

Re: Sydney - Dallas 30th July: upgrade chances

The upgrade fairy could wave her magic wand for you. What happens if the upgrade is for one? That is the real test of a relationship......

To be fair I think I should occasionally plug Expert Flyer to those who can afford it.
I don't mind sharing but they need revenue to stay in business or there will be nothing to share!

Re: Sydney - Dallas 30th July: upgrade chances

Good luck with the upgrade fairy... I liked your response on if only one upgrade is offered.

Re: Sydney - Dallas 30th July: upgrade chances

After a discussion at a dinner just look to see your upgrade request is just Sydney - Dallas- Sydney rather than include Melbourne as the upgrade fairy might see that as too complicated.

Hello friends.

I apologise that I don't have my own Expertflyer sub, but this is my last international travel for a year or so, as my mum has been diagnosed with a serious illness. So I decided to put off subscribing until I start travelling again.

Would someone be able to check loadings on:
1 Aug 2016 QF7 SYD-DFW
7 Aug 2016 QF8 DFW-SYD

I'm ticketed W for 2 pax and have applied for upgrade. Sadly have slipped back to SG for now.

Thanks

I'd say you have a fair chance on the first leg with PE already being close to full.
Probably too soon to make a prediction on the return.

Edit: Just noticed kermatu's earlier reply

50% chance outbound assuming not too many CL/OWE on list.
Return 65% based on the above rider.

happy flighting

Can someone please post loadings for EK404 from SIN-MEL for tomorrow night 05 August? The QF8404 codeshare looks to be full in economy. I'm in 67G which I hope is bulkhead. Maybe not.

Here are the numbers from EF:

EK 4040SIN
05/08/16 22:40
MEL
06/08/16 7:50
388
Daily
89% / 10m
F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O7 P0 Y0 E0 R0 W0 M0B0 U0 K0 H0 Q0 L0 T0 V0 X0

Row 67 looks like bulkhead / exit.

Trying to book some last minute flights and I cannot see EK433 BNE-SIN on 19 September. Is this flight sold out?
