Thanks for confirming this. Just signed up and it says "use the email activation" and I keep clicking 'resend my email activation' but I get nothing. So I'll wait a couple of days.

Also to confirm - it seems on Qantas, the only real benefit is that you can check in under the "Business/priority" lane and that's about it? However you do not receive any Qantas Silver Status perks such as more points/SC when flying. Is that correct?

That is correct you won't receive the additional points from the status bonus. You do get a little more than just priorty check in. There is a full list of the OW benefits you will receive here:

After reading up about OW Ruby benefits a bit more. I have a question:

As Ruby status benefits from selecting seats on international flights at no charge how can now select my seat for free on a flight I booked a few weeks for next year which is already linked to my QFF number?

I have the same question. Have a BA flight next September from ATH to NY with a stopover in London. Yet to select seats and at around $200 total it would be nice to book for free during the 4 month window.

  • Preferred and pre-reserved seating when offered by the airline operating the flight

Also wonder if Ruby status would get priority in the QF call centre having spent 3 hours today changing a booking.

Not to sure about the seat selection. But as for the call centre AFAIK the priority is allocated from your QFF# when you input it at the start of the call so if you don't hild QFF Silver that may not work. Although I'm not sure if there is another way through to the QF call centre through a OW line?

As you would know, you're given the option to enter your QF FF number, but not a partners or your booking REF. Thus, they wouldn't know you were Ruby status until you finally got through.

True. I was probably clinging to some slim hope that the Ruby Status would somehow be reflected on my QFF membership. I also believe in Santa Claus. :D

I've never done it, but I'd imagine find you booking on the QF website, edit customer details and enter your AB FF number. Select the seats you want. Then go back and change back to your QF number (assuming that's where you want to credit the flight to).

To do this you'll need to call them as you can't remove an FF number on the QF site. I think you used to be able to on other airlines sites.

Geez. No wonder wait times for the call centre are so long when customers can't do basic things online.

10 days since I signed up and no confirmation that it worked for me. Just logged in and it says I signed up for Silver, but it hasn't come through yet I guess.

Just the Classic status for me. For now.

Signed up last Thursday, still not heard anything. Status on website unchanged.

Where on the AirBerlin site would it say you are signed up for Silver?

Didn't work for me. Went through the process but received a yellow response rather than green. Tried on various days, to no avail

I googled a translator after I posted on the forum and found that out but thank you anyway. Will just wait and see if it arrives but will be going back to Silver anyway at the end of January. Just hope it arrives before then so I can use it for an early Jan flight.
