Free Airberlin Silver status for 4 months

Great offer - I have signed up but trying to work out how/if I could benefit from an upcoming trip. I have booked a VA flight SYD-CDG, but operated by SQ. if I added my AB FF to this booking would I accrue status miles to get me over the line to extend? Also given I'm checking in at a SQ counter would they recognise the status? And finally, if I do get the 12 months locked in could I then status match to either VA or QF after that? Or would I be better off just accruing on my VA FF? Lots of questions, just trying to get max value from this offer!

Thanks, yes I understand that however my itinerary was ticketed by VA with a VA ticket number, but I'll be flying on SQ tin. So not quite sure where that leaves me.

I received my "Classic" card from Airberlin today 5/12/16, I have a feeling I have missed out on the Silver thing, even though I think I applied within the time limit. Time shall tell.
