I'm glad I have Monday/Tuesday off.
Just hope that Transport Canberra doesn't stop the buses so that I can actually get to/from work on Wed+

I think it's reasonably clear that you have no idea whatsoever what is happening in China.

zenya, why don't you try something different from your usual replies - and actually educate rather than stay in the comfort zone of only ever throwing rocks...

I would really like to know what is happening in china. I really would. One would assume that you have much knowledge if you denounce others. Why not share your knowledge? Or are you afraid that people will "throw rocks" at you in the same way you do others?

Juddles most of the factories we deal with in China have been able to restart but are not yet back to full production.

Understood. But what is real life over there? Are they still in lockdown? Are they entering a new norm where international travel is unnecessary? Have they just decided to no longer publish COVID figures? There is very little coming out of China these days. I would really welcome input from anyone who actually has any knowledge... :)

The figures from China were always dodgy as poor folks could not afford a doctor nor hospital. So they were not counted.

I'll start this rant with a polite nod to Anna, for doing a great job in regards to COVID-19.

However, her stance on the local election is disgraceful.

#1 They suspend parliament, but not local elections - FFS, it's local elections..... But, there are two critical state by-elections her government depends upon - Do you see what happen here?

#2 They drag every poor sod out of their self isolated homes to vote. Yes, each and every person no matter what age, or what health (apart from dementia, or locked up aged care) ... can you believe it!

#3 After they have stressed everyone in the state - they can't count the vote, the system crashed - absolute total losers!

Pathetic, the government, the electoral commission - just total losers!

The Governor should sack this mob due to utter incompetence and total negligence!

No offence intended, but you still decided to travel only weeks ago. Surely that meant you believed the Chinese figures were correct.

You don't think that's going to happen in the good ol' USA?
It's been happening since the beginning. One couple from the Ruby Princess, living in NY, been back a week, husband with fever and unwell and they have been to a few different places for Covid testing and they refuse to test him. Told they didn't have enough tests. She does a check in every day on another Forum so will update later.

The forum is US based. Every time that person posts a warning to others in TR about that cruise, her posts are deleted as are mine. My comment "up a River in Egypt" (denial) gave me a warning. It's my badge of honour. NSW Health sent the TR writer a warning email and because it came from an unknown source, she didn't read it but deleted it.

As anyone who has travelled in the USA will know they have huge junks of their population who simply never, or only rarely, visit the Doctor as they cannot afford it.
I was actually in Washington DC when they were voting on the Obama Health Bill, and as it was the No 1 topic of conversation at that time I talked with many Americans then on their health system. I was shocked then by what they told me. I am terrified for them now.

Then the USA failed to develop a test that worked, and also failed in allowing others to be deployed. Even now they still have a huge lack in available tests, though that is starting to change.

But I am in no doubt that the current massive USA Case Rate is only a small slice of what is and what it will actually be.

So after lots of nagging by hubby, I bought a toaster.

Wonder if Aussie post will continue to deliver after full lockdown announced, guaranteed delivery Tuesday I was advised.

No talk of their delivery services being suspended as yet.

Is it just me or anyone else noticed Aust Post really slow in deliveries (not received 2 x parcels yet that were scheduled for delivery last Wednesday) and no updates to progress in the last couple weeks?

Yep. Aussie post slower than usual but I thought that was a knock on effect for increased handling OHS

Deliveries are up the duff even with couriers. Officeworks supposed to deliver cables on Friday. Not arriving now at least until Tuesday. But they haven't even been dispatched yet. I'm not "allowed" out of the house now. Not my decision just yet but whatever. I could have gone to OW last week and had them straight away. So when complaints about non delivery come I just suggest it isn't my issue any more. Consequences of decisions made and all that. I was happy to go to OW.

I came across this Facebook Post from Steph Freeman from the UK which I think many will find to be interesting, information and instructive.

So most of you know I have been confirmed as having COVID-19. The big thing I have noticed is the government saying about the cough and breathlessness and the high temps but there are other things to look out for especially in the early days before the respiratory symptoms start so I have done a day to day dairy so that people know how I actually felt before the main symptoms started. This will hopefully stop people infecting people when they are not sure but feel a little unwell.

Day 1 headaches and feeling tired
Day2 headaches and eyes hurt, like bad hay fever, they were watery stingy and itchy.
Day 3 really tired and throat was really dry and a little sore
Day 4 a bit of a cough and a slight temperature
Day 5 dry cough a little worse than day before but not too bad and felt a little dizzy, very tired, felt run down and getting cold sweats
Day 6 cough worse but like a flu cough annoying but with rest and water could cope and still getting headaches and eyes hurting.
Day 7 tired, cough feeling a little better and no temps
Bit of headache, felt like I was over the worse
Day 8 woke up feeling really bad cough really bad temp still not very high only ever been between 37.9 and 38.3, chest feeling tight and couldn’t stop coughing, tired beyond words, dizzy feel like I can’t breathe, deep dry cough headache and achy from coughing and through feeling cough, eyes sore as well.
Day 9 confirmed as having Coronavirus and a secondary chest infection so now on antibiotics and in heavy isolation.
Day 10 chest feeling tight, head ache, very tired, coughing more, high temps (luckily I’m controlling them with regular paracetamol) eyes feel heavy and generally feel like I can’t do anything.
Day 11 cough feeling a little better but chest very heavy and tired just to talk, hard to catch breath even when going to toilet, drinking plenty of fluids and taking antibiotics and regular paracetamol to keep temp down.

Luckily I isolated myself on day 1 but now have to isolate for an extra week on top of the 14 days, I hope this will help people to think twice before going out if they are unsure if they actually have symptoms as trust me you don’t want this. I have so far as of day 13 been able to manage my symptoms at home, where I feel at the moment is the best place for me. I have strict instructions that if I feel any worse or struggling to keep my temperature down with the regular paracetamol or get that breathless that I struggle to talk in sentence that I should be calling for help.
