According to the T&C's the vouchers won't work unless there is a flight booked inside the booking period, but strange things can happen with QF IT.

Ok I misunderstood, no worries think i'll book a cheap flexi fare then just change the booking later - to have one more shot at DSCs up my sleeve.

Barcaldine to Longreach forward bookings must be looking strong 😂
Except no if 99% of the new bookings were then cancelled.. This was my point a few days ago. It would absolutely show up as a flag I reckon.
As these are only small planes I felt obligated to cancel my booking early so other travelers who had a greater need to travel this route would not be disadvantaged. ;) :D

Maybe this has already been noted but if not :

When will I receive my bonus Status Credits?
Bonus Status Credits may take up to six weeks after completion of travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

What do Status Credits count towards?
Status Credits count towards retaining your current membership tier or reaching the next membership tier. To attain or retain your status the required number of Status Credits must be earned and in your Frequent Flyer account by the end of your current membership year. However, bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/ Challenge earn requirements.

So if QF take the full six weeks to credit DSC, or you have to chase them because they do not post automatically, and they are eventually posted to your account after your "membership year" has rolled over, you might miss out on the status you have flown to retain. It us up to the efficiency of QF but they have provided themselves with an "out".

Such a small plane going onto Long Reach
Where will all the DSC luggage go ? LOL

SO FAR I swapped 60% of em across to vouchers but not especially alarmed of holding one Coinciding with the actual 100th anniversary date

Im going to book my Longreach tix for one of the latest eligible dates and then hopefully be able to chnage the flight another route months before

Had this issue myself. Unless something has changed, the SCs are retroactively awarded as at the date of flight. Correct Me if I’m wrong.

Compare and contrast loyalty bonus SCs, which offer can be held over to the next accrual year.

cheers skip

I found a cheaper fare on the QBR website (fare difference about A$95) for the same route - called up QF Premium CC, had my old FLEX booking refunded and new booking done :)

IT aside.. once again I will point out the ridiculous ambiguity in the T&C that have existed for years.

Rather than lay it out AGAIN I will simply ask anyone interested to go read the T&C then find and determine the differences between "Promotion" "Promotion Period" and "Promotional Dates"

The intent seems clear. The wording and use of multiple phrases with similar names and no definition made is poor.

(and this has come up for the past few years. Everyone's mileage has and probably will vary. Draw your on conclusions and make your own choices)

I wonder how long it will be after the 28th before the DSC start coming through for flights flown. Maybe a week or two at first and then faster as time goes on?
I think all the bugs of the past promotions would have been ironed out.

DSC wIll likely credit almost instantly this time. 😉

Happy to correct you - I did a MEL-SYD-DPS-SYD-MEL trip last year that ended back in MEL a couple of days before my anniversary and the DSC's ended up in my new year - which worked well for me

Re : DSC Extension until tonight - does it also apply for QBR bookings? I mean to ask, if I made a booking via the QF CC, called them up today and asked to make a booking using my ABN?

I don't think this is how it's supposed to work? So I'm surprised to hear this, to be honest.

I always thought the DSC's land based on the date of travel ... and if your date of travel was in the previous anniversary year, then the credits should be credited to the previous anniversary year's tally and not under the current anniversary year's tally

Advice plse - to get 600 SC from CBR on say something like CBR MEL CHC MEL CBR... or is it best to go via OOL? (using $450 AMEX travel)?

And then there is the FAQ, as tortured as that is:

Are Qantas Flight vouchers eligible for this offer?
Flight Vouchers purchased and redeemed for an eligible flight booking made during the promotion will earn double Status Credits. Flight Vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking (for flights that are not booked or travelled within the booking or travel period dates), will not earn double Status Credits.

I was a little surprised too but it meant that I hit Gold this current FF year during my U.S. trip instead of when I landed back in Melbourne so I was able to access the QP at LAX before the flight home (was only silver before that).
