Has anybody noticed a delay in receiving confirmations of the gift voucher purchases? I bought two a couple of hours ago and still no email. I stupidly didn't take down the PNR details that were generated.

Well these are the change words in the fare conditions online.

Changes

At least 30 minutes prior to the schedule departure time

Changes can be made online at qantas.com/yourbooking, otherwise call 13 13 13.
  • Exception: For changes to combined Qantas and Jetstar multi-city bookings call 13 13 13.

Fees are not payable where you are entitled to a refund or alternative flight under the Australian Consumer Law or Conditions of Carriage.
For changes made over the phone, you must pay the service fee applicable as at the date of the change.
Your original fare may be used as credit towards a new fare of equal or higher value, provided the new fare conditions are met.

At the time of making the change you must pay:
  • any fare difference between the fare for your new booking and the original fare.
    • Once your booking is made the current service fee can be viewed anytime at qantas.com/your booking.

Your new booking must be for travel anywhere on the Qantas network within 12 months of the date that the original ticket was is

The fare conditions text does seem to only have a fee for refunds. But when selecting the fare in the booking engine a $99 fee for cancelation is shown. Not at all like qantas to have conflicting information. /s

Also hopped on the GV bandwagon today and also a Flex booking which I'll convert to voucher as well for this DSC promotion.

I notice the T&C's of the vouchers states that it is only available for one way and return bookings, not multi city. I'm assuming this is a limitation in the online booking engine. Has anyone had any luck getting the call centre to do multi city bookings with the gift vouchers previously?

So you can only use the credit on other flexi fares? No red e-deal (sale) or saver ("normal" economy) fares?

Further, if you want to to use the credit on a business/premium economy class fare, does that mean you can only use it on a flexi business/PE class and not a sale or saver business/PE class fare?

No, the credit can be used on any fare bucket. The value of the fare just has to be higher than the credit voucher.

From the T&Cs
^ Credit vouchers are issued based on the terms and conditions of the fare purchased, and can only be used towards a fare of equal or higher value. Domestic travel must be completed within 12 months of the original ticket issue date. International travel must commence within 12 months of the original ticket issue date. Credit vouchers are not transferrable, and cannot be redeemed on Multi city, Round the World and Jetstar flight bookings. More information on credit vouchers.

You can still book indirect if it's offered when searching direct e.g. if you see MEL-BNE-CNS when booking MEL-CNS you should still see that option when redeeming the voucher. However you couldn't tag on an extra leg e.g. to do ADL-MEL-BNE-CNS

You could try calling up but if your status is below WP then be prepared for very long call wait times.

Do you mean open jaw bookings?
ie. A-B (stop), C-A.

One guy asked similar earlier, but does anyone have any suggestions:

- Friday I booked an international return flight (in the promotional period)

- Monday I realised whoops, and registered for the promo.

- Tomorrow I’m booking another international flight

Am I screwed? Its corporate so I can’t cancel and reorder.

Is there any merit to calling up / getting on live chat and playing dumb, I.e. hey, I just want to confirm that all my flights are eligible?
Are you concerned you made the Friday booking before registering on Monday? If so, it shouldn't be an issue - in the past people have reported as long as you fulfil the requirements in any order in the given time period, you will be fine.

Nothing about which step has to be done first...

hi kangol,

yes, that is what i was concerned about, as 1), 2), 3) implies an order, but if you're telling me they have paid out in the past then that's great news, thanks!

everyone mentioned live chat support is a bit useless but i did ask anyway, the first reply said i may need to register first, and then a later reply said i would have to. anyway, i'll ignore them and hope to get the DSC.

I think I did pretty well, qantas IT issues not withstanding. Snagging MEL-BNE-NRT in J for April at a shade over 3k for April was pretty good and ca couple of work trips with flex returns (reimbursable).

My qualification year starts in march and I didn't think that I'd prequalify for WP for next year and here I am with 870 in DSC bookings plus a a loyalty bonus to credit when the year roles over so I think I will do it. Not quite as good as the year where, thanks to the DSC and a work trip to the US, I re-qualified for WP in 6 days, but I'll take it.

Just confirming bookings via Amex travel (to utilise travel credit) will attract double status credits?

Would the booking have to be made and paid for by midnight tonight,? i.e. no book now and pay later?

My apologies everyone, I asked the question before reading the terms and conditions, which says as long as I pay before the due date on my pay later flight I get double credits.
Cheers

Does anyone know with the GV if you can put children on it. When booking a GV it asks for number of adults, and not for children, and when redeeming a booking you can only redeem for number of people on the voucher. If you are a family of 4, do you just enter the kids in as Adults?
