5 hours attempting to make bookings none succeeded. If Qantas don't extend i will be extremely disappointed - absolute disgrace.

Totally agree,

Unable to book flights and gift vouchers.

only 1 return flight booking successful(which took over an hour to process)

I have taken many screen shots which are time/date stamped. multiple error codes and time outs

And it's all over. I'd think there will be some former QF IT staff leaving the building by end of tomorrow... then again they might all be getting promotions for a job well done

I agree but I doubt they will
QF will argue that the promo has been open for days and probably say it’s the customers fault for leaving it until the last day to book.

They did the promo for revenue so if they want to leave it on the table because their website can't handle traffic I will spend with another airline as they already wasted my time tonight, I had around $9-10k I was looking at spending. The argument it has been open for days is not really valid when the promo ended tonight. If I was trotting out the line DSC's were to help with revenue, it will be interesting to see how financial markets react when the news comes out people couldn't even make the bookings.

Simply register by 11.59pm (AEDT) 25 February 2020

LOL the financial markets wouldn't care whatsoever about people missing out in making a booking.

Maybe not in your case, but for others...

Don’t forget it’s the booking date/time that is one of the qualifying criteria for the DSC. If you found a way to get a booking reference, you still might be able to pay for it later and keep the booking.

I kept trying to make two bookings - one PER-NOU return for 2 PAX in J, the other for 2 PAX in J/F PER-SYD-SIN-LHR-CDG return.
Site wouldn't let me make either.
So the only thing I walked away with was a folder full of gift vouchers.

Amongst the mayhem, managed to squeeze in 4x GV + 1 flex booking by 2359. Phew. But GV not issued yet - no concerns re: qualifying for DSC right?

If you had the PNR reference by midnight you're good. the email confirmation will take some time no doubt... but as long as PNR was created then no worries (as far as the use of vouchers goes)

Not directed at anyone in particular but it's been a bit amusing to see human nature is what it is - who remembers waiting till the last minute to do school assignments and the like?

Yesterday was a fine day for making bookings or purchasing vouchers :)

Anyway it's all over for another.. period of time. I doubt they will extend but you never know.

I bet QF are secretly happy at the extra load tonight as people scrambled to make bookings of one kind or another. It means they generated a lot of demand.. that they didn't satisfy it all with the errors... that's poor.. but I'd say they probably reached their targets - we'll know if the offer is extended or not I guess (but IIRC last year the offer was extended days before the original expiration date so I can't see it being extended past that.. but you never know).

Happy travels and DSCs to all!

I have a GV reference # but no PNR sadly... however confirmation page does show GV have valid from date of 25 Feb. So I guess one could argue it will also have an issue date (and hence individual PNR) of 25 Feb. Fingers crossed.

That *IS* the PNR. The confirmation email is just a formality. As long as you got the summary page with the reference and it's paid then the PNR was created and you're good.
