Red Roo

Has QF gone PC * now ?

* PC = politically correct

Codswallop! It's not the job of airport staff to quiz people on the nature of their relationship to another passenger. That is an issue that should be sorted at the time of reservation.

A domestic partner is no less of a person that a married spouse remembering that not all couples have the 'luxury' of choosing to have their union formally recognised in Australia.

I find it quite extraordinary if not ludicrous that a Classic Award for a non-married couple is allegedly acceptable but an ASA is not.

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

.... Last guy said I will have to prove the second passenger is my "domestic partner" at the airport or they wont produce her ticket as the ASA is only for related passengers ...

So, "domestic partner" has become another sub-booking/award type/category now.

And the relationship will be verified at the gate by the domestic partner police.:lol::lol:

Finally got it sorted, still haven't booked though, came in DRW-BNE-CBR return, 2 pax in J, 140,000 points and $1145 taxes... Sound expensive?

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Are you sure it's not 144,000 points?

I think that co-payment would be in the right ballpark.

What if the married couple doesn't share the same last name? Will it be assumed that they are domestic partners unless a marriage certificate is produced?

Why don't the domestic partner police do something constructive like police the PB queue instead?

Some have had success some have not. As opposed to 100% excellent results prior to the change

And then look at introducing a Verified Domestic Partner queue at the gate, alongside PB.

My domestic partner deflates and goes in my carry-on, so no worries there.

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

what would happen if it was a step sibling or cousin all with different names
how would you prove that in this mixed up world we all now live in ???

Funnily enough, every time I upgrade a friend it turns out they were a long lost cousin. ;)

Jokes aside, I'd like to see some Red Roo follow-up on those purported comments to Longrass.

I have had that many domestic partners QF may think I am a tart lol and they may not know which team I bat for.

In some parts:
domestic partner, first cousin, what's the difference?

I too have had a few domestic partners but I think I could say they were all legit.

And what happens if you make a booking for four people are they're all your domestic partners???

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

With the help from red roo last week I have bookings to get me to gold. It was fun while it lasted I guess...

While its impossible to book xASA online now, its not really an issue now I have nearly burnt all my points balance in the 3 months post June 26... RIP xASA

If that is the case I will be flying over you Shintaro10x. At least your points did not get cancelled from non use.
I was reading about South Australian products that included Coopers,Vili's pies and Haigh's chocolates in another thread. All good!

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

I've got a Marginal ASA I'm travelling on tomorrow, due to lack of availability I ended up with a 6 hour connection in Brisbane, there a seats still available on the shorter connections just not at the classic award rate. Do you think if I asked at checkin they may be able to change my second flight to an earlier one?

Tell them it is an offence to discriminate against your religious beliefs to have more than one wife/husband etc and that the blue tablets in your Carry On are headache tablets
