Mine only arrived late last week. I'm silver. Partners arrived a couple of weeks ago and he's WP.

We're both WP but didn't pre-register. Anyway will just wait patiently. Thanks for the replies.

Real world scenario, need beer money on a Saturday night in Singapore:

Citibank ATM $200 SGD = $172.08 debited to my plus account or 1.1622
Qantas Cash currently 1.1278

XE
200.00 SGD = 170.317 AUD
Singapore Dollar ↔ Australian Dollar
1 SGD = 0.851584 AUD 1 AUD = 1.17428 SGD

Not quite.
My understanding is if you pull it out of a different bucket you pay the MasterCard spot less 3%.

Okay, so if I go back over the sums, I may have saved 8¢ in this case, if it was 3% of the AUD, but if it was 2.5% I lost 4¢. Seems easy enough to use for myself either way though, and I'm hardly ever dealing in very large numbers ;)

I pre-registered, and received this about 2 weeks ago. I've been trying since then to activate it, unsuccessfully despite numerous phone calls and emails. Today I was told that it had actually been cancelled 2 weeks ago, and that my calls had been in vain.

Anyone know if my old FF card is still good to use?

Your old FF card should be fine, and I suspect so will your new one from a FF point of view.

On this example the Q Cash ex rate is just over 3% worse than City Bank...what about if you take into account any ATM fees?

I received mine in today's mail. I pre-registered and was hoping to have it for travel to LOTFAP in June & July. I was told by a CSA in May that it was still on the drawing board, so went for the 28o CC instead.

Not sure where to post this, but received my first transfer of points from QCASH to my QFF account today, unfortunately it's not showing any details about this on the QCASH website. The figure looks about right, considering it's half of what I have put in, or so I guess.

Looks like I have found a little trap, put money in Thursday night, cleared this morning, went to use it this afternoon and it declined, bad card number. As my status has been rolled over it looks like a new card number has been generated making my active card inactive sometime in the last week, and up to ten days until a new one arrive, glad I am not overseas relying on that money, as I feel this is a major flaw of the system!

OMG, that has got to be the biggest school boy error of all! Seems like this product has not been that well thought out after all.

I've pretty much decided to move to Citi anyway. Just using ones ordinary bank card without incurring fees is much simpler than faffing around loading up other cards. My OzForex card will just expire in a couple of years swallowing up the remain few cents on it up.

I'll have Citi for cash and the Bankwest Platinum for card purchases when abroad, all without any fees.

I cannot believe they have a system where Ff renewal invokes a situation where your card and money become inaccessible, but it was confirmed tonight:

Following on from our previous conversation I can confirm your new Qantas frequent flyer card with you Qantas cash facility has been reissued to you on 10/09/2013, this card should be delivered to you within 10 business days.

This would be the reason why you are unable to use your current card. I would advise to wait for your new card to be delivered before trying to make any further purchases or withdrawals.

Given its a yearly thing versus the normal 2-5 year expiry cycle of the average card, it needs to be fixed and is unacceptable! I was not impressed that a POLI deposit from Thursday only cleared today when I was OS on the weekend, as it now turns out it would have not mattered, my card was dead.

We can only hope the money knows where it belongs. That is a real major flaw and could be a significant issue when overseas. Or if you actually needed access to YOUR cash.

Not good........validates my opinion of the thing!

That directly contricts what we were told at the Melbourne lunch - which was along the lines of the old card would still be usable in such situations and would only become inactive when the new status card was activated.

There is some disconnect there ...
