So excuse my inability to secure some understanding from the latest QF earning tables, an Emirates Y flight from Perth to London Heathrow earns how many points and status? vs the same point to points with Malaysian or PER LHR via Hong Kong (Cathay) . Heaven forbid as a customer i'd like to fly QF metal but i cant even see where Perth sits on the tables?? With a move to being UK based and constant return flights to Perth I'm looking to maximise my position with the best carrier...help!!

P.S. My plan is not to fly Y regularly but this is a base guide

According to the OP this is the new beaut simplified way of doing things.

Matt

Perth is west coast Australia. That's all I know, or perhaps it's north west Australia.

Look, we've been TOLD that the new way is 'simpler and fairer', so if you can't work it out Turbo-g, then its probably your fault. ;)

Yes, I'm kidding!

Of course, the new tables etc are simple - just like the Income Tax Act is simple.

Given the amount of money that people make because they appear to understand the Income Tax Act, perhaps there is an opportunity for some enterprising AFF member to become an entrepreneur :mrgreen:

Where are the CPAs and MBAs when you need one. Or does QF have too many of the latter.

Happy wandering

Fred

PS
I could recommend an MBA from an outstanding university to the QFFF team, but he is probably twice their average age. And likes to live in Western Australia.

Maybe they will surprise us and take a more reasonable approach to partner earn (e.g. acknowledging that QF doesn't fly Asia-Nth America or Asia-Europe or Asia-Africa or Asia-ME, and restores standard earn accordingly)

Simple really.. if the SC'c are RS then the $$$$$$ have to reign and look for the best deal and don't worry about "LOYALTY"

The sad reality is that if one really wants to redeem QFF points on Qantas international flights then going forward it's gunna cost maybe 1 cent or more per point in +++ to do so!

They've already gone flying with other airlines. I've been asked quite regularly by people with at least one of those qualifications why I'm still flying on Qantas.

That's been coming for a while now, but surely that reduces the incentive to chase points, which is what's made the program so profitable for Qantas Group.

Other than a swipe of the EDR card at Woolworths, I'm struggling to justify crediting anything to QFF anymore.

wandering_fred - I think the problem is that QFF has too many MBA's, clearly the message from the top has been to squeeze as much extra short term profit out of the program to offset the losses in the rest of the group in the next annual results. It might be that they get away with it, but surely the devaluations will eventually bite...

Apparently according to QF, Adelaide is on the east coast so who knows where Perth might be these days

I have given up chasing status with QF. It will be either BFOD or a classic award in J which will keep a few hundred in my bank account.

I think you are right.

I couldn't see it coming. I think Qantas is contemplating a new surcharge for redeeming awards. Your QFF points and all the other taxes and surcharges aren't quite enough.

Forget my dream of 8 Oneworld awards. Need a drastic change of plans.

I think reference to the regions should be deleted from here - the airline is reading this thread. One of the could prove lucrative!
