Heads up about program changes

Excellent, now I ponder which local airport to choose, Perth or Darwin?? Obviously "A comprehensive knowledge of Australian geography" wasn't in the Essential Criteria for this task.

Imagine the poor buggers that dont live here :)

I've found my print out from 3 April. To highlight the problem I see with partner earning I present this photo.

West coast Australia! What is that? It's not defined, or at least wasn't defined. Perth is north west Australia.

And I'm not even going to restart about west coast to Middle East, with emirates say, getting 10 extra SC over east coast to Middle East. I'll just have to accept that giving less SC for a longer and possibly more expensive flight is a simpler and fairer way to reward us for the money we spend.

Not sure where to post, but trying to do some status calculations. Any idea what JAL X class (business) BKK-HND and JAL H (economy) HND-CTS would earn in SCs, oneway?

I can't figure this table out, to be honest.

Under the first table published that apparently no longer appears. Both of those routes would fit under the mileage section for all other flights. This mileage section is considerably more [-]complex[/-] simple than the old mileage tables. Tell me the distances and I'll look them up.

Lost in the intricacies of the simple earning tables...

BKK - HND 2854 miles and HND - CTS 509.

Thanks! How do they expect anyone to plan status if they can't get accurate, easy to read tables up?

Think about that last question a bit. And then I think the answer is pretty clear, or simple I dare say.

i suppose maybe qantas doesn't think that's an issue for most people?

they probably assume you fly when you need to fly... and you'll get whatever points and SCs for the flying you need to do.

why would anyone take extra flights simply to earn SCs?

thats my my best guess at what might be going on.

Maybe QF's preferred customers (who fly only twice a year but collect QF points at Woolworths) don't plan status?

Happy wandering

According to the disappeared table that would be (discY, Y, J)
25, 50, 100
10, 20, 40

BKK - HND 2854 miles and HND - CTS 509.

Of course you could fly BKK-HKG-HND.to get a few more SCs.

Man, this is so bl**dy confusing.

Pre / Post July 1st

New / Recent / Revised tables....

I had deliberately refused OPM sponsorship to run down my QFF bank by taking up 2x FASA SYD LAX as I am nervous / worried they would turn into FlyBuys soon.

medhead, are you able to post-up the full former table.

Many thanks.

I'm not 100% sure of the best way to post it. I'll try scanning the print out.

Here is a screenshot of the scanned document. The table was printed out on 3 April 2014 and it is the partner SC earn table published at that time. You'll see I didn't get the table headings when printing it out. I think this was posted up thread a bit. Hopefully this version is more readable.

Is there anyway we can have "table/calculator" for SC earnings on bookings made before that SIMPLE & FAIR day - (for travel after July 1st) ?

The QF calculator for "travel before July 1st" refused to calculate a simple LAX DFW route, saying there is "no direct flight".

How could I argue etc... when it does not match up with QF promise of old earning rates ?

It's back online again, no changes from a quick glance at it.
Still the same stupid SC earn rate
East Coast -Middle East 80 in J
West Coast-Middle East 120 in J

:(

I think mileage monkey would be the best bet at the moment. MileageMonkey

Otherwise, use the mileage table here to get an indication: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Status Credits
In fact, that table should be valid in conjunction with the old airline earning table here: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

I don't really care where Perth is: all I know is that when I step on the plane I NEVER EVER want to get off in Geraldton, Port Hedland Karratha or Carnarvon. The best way to see those places is at 900 kilometres an hour at 30,000 feet!

PS: I go to Carnarvon on Skippers which is actually even worse! If you think the Qantas planes are bad, try Skippers!!!
