Heads up about program changes

OMG Yet another option. I have a UK address I can use to join BAEC, and while their burn rates look good, from the examples you have given, wonder about the availability on QF, given the recent history between QF/BA?
Does it have to be a UK address? Would an address in The Netherlands be acceptable?

Hi Redroo (and others)

I am trying to find out how many status credits I would get flying from Canberra to Rockhampton under the new revised scheme, but there is no "intermediate" destination available to be chosen. The exact error is: "There are no direct flights or the cabin class is not offered on the route selected. Use the timetable to see connecting flights between these cities."

Now, if I book an ECOMONY flight from Canberra to Rockhampton (as a single ticket) and fly via Brisbane, will I get the 20 SCs for the flight from Canberra to Brisbane, and a further 20 SCs for the flight from Brisbane to Rockhampton or a lower status credit for the combined flight?

Similarly, if I flew CBR-SYD-BRIS-ROK (in Economy), would I get 60 SC or (again) some lower amount?

Unfortunately the Qantas website doesn't allow me to find out when there is no direct flights. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon confusing as all hell isn't it. I don't know what status you have with the airline but you can ring either the Plat Line or the F/f Number and they supposedly can calculate this for you.

Happy hunting

I'm more worried about our latest points and SC's ( for our latest MASA) not posting at all , it's been 6 days so far

You'd have to plug the individual legs in to get your answer.

Plugging in the individual legs is where I get the 60 from (each leg is worth 20 SCs). But I guess my question is more "do you still get status credits for the individual legs or the entire journey?"

The new website is not that helpful in answering that question. :)

It all depends on whether or not all flights are on one flight number or different flight numbers. If it is different flight numbers for each leg, you will receive points and SC's for the individual legs.

Ah cool. So that bit hasn't changed. Excellent to hear. I was under the impression from reading the announcement (and the Qantas post July calculator) that it was going to be based on the total journey and was worried that the different flight numbers bonus bit was going to be quashed too.

Thanks for the information :)

somewhere on AFF there are posts about, clears throat and whispers, Austria being a common mis-spelling of Australia. I couldn't possibly confirm that it worked :)

I actually have access to an address in the Netherlands so I don't need to misspell but I thank you for your thoughts.

Another sort of feature of BA exec club is that Avios are freely interchangeable with Iberia Plus. So you can pick and choose who earns the most Avios (or has the least required for an award) and transfer when you feel like it. Can be advantageous with some hotel program earns, IB ear/burn and Vueling flight earnings, although I haven't checked different earn/burns with oneworld partners.

To move around with IB+ though you need to have some form of activity within the account. You can also transfer freely to Avios.com and I've often found availability for flights on Avios.com that BA.com has not had.

Perhaps we should split this discussion out into another thread?

LOL make sure you create it in the QF board :D Might make the boffins at QFF wake up and realise they are about to see many elites say adios and hello Avios!
