P.S. From memory I have never had a 737 substituted to a 767 on a domestic flight.
It happened to me a few times, mostly on MEL-SYD 8.30am flights.

Only if you have pre-allocated seats that map to 737. Eg 23F, 24D etc. 23J, 24J, 25J, 26J don't so you are left without seat allocation. Still not desirable but a little easier to notice when you are checking bookings for relevant seat allocations.

To resurrect an old thread...
Qantas, why is it that airberlin flights appear in my bookings on qantas.com, but not American Airlines or even Jetstar bookings?
Because Air Berlin use Amadeus ... AA and JQ don't.
Because the automatons that send out those emails don't know any better. Why is it that when I have an itinerary starting with a red-eye flight, you send me an email trying to sell me a hotel at my destination for that night?
Why is it I can earn more points and SC's on a Jetstar for a Y seat and pay less as opposed to a Y QF seat?
...the surcharges on economy redemption to London are $250 less (one way) than business? I thought that these charges were for airport taxes etc and fuel?
Of course!!......... My Skybed II weighs twice as much as an economy seat. Think of all that eco-guilt
I've already been burnt with that one in J. Always fly back from CDG or AMS etcIf the redemption is exLHR, the UK departure tax in any cabin other than the lowest, is rather remarkable. In fact, many remarks that are best left unprinted have been made. It will pay for the short trip to a European airport instead (if you have the time and inclination)
Happy wandering

No, this is flying TO London Heathrow FROM Melbourne
AFAIK there is no APD flying into LHR so the only people loading up the extra charges are Qantas themselves.
$250 more YQ seems like another rip-off to me
Maybe the Y passengers are more svelte?The fuel surcharge alone on MEL-LHR is $270 in Y or $495 in J/F - a difference of $225. Yes, it's a big rip-off.

Why is it cheaper to fly to Europe then Dubai?
