Short answer is no. HH do not do soft landings either so if you don't have the stays then straight to Blue for you.

I dropped from Diamond to Silver.

I have re qualified plat already, review in July. Will I be given another option to take the Hilton upgrade? Is the status with the hotel maintained so long as you maintain status with Virgin?

I went platinum in Feb and applied.. All I got was HH blue status.. The same for the Hire car offer with Hertz, I only got signed up at the lowest level..

Has anyone else had issues with getting this offer..

I had no responsefrom HH when I hit gold and claimed. Hertz I was already with, but was knocked up to the five star. Have since switched to Europcar and have had upgrades with every rental.
Word of caution, Europcar is difficult to use if planning on using in the US

Apparently the offers are only reset on a change of level, so no new offer with HH... If I were you I'd follow up with HH or Velocity about your misfired application for Gold. Perhaps it went to your spam folder if it's an email based contact? Might still be able to wrangle it if you chase up what happened...

I got the email from HH saying I'd been given Gold status, but when I login to my HH account it still shows Blue - is this what happened to you?

Yep, exactly the same. I got the HH email saying I am Diamond Elite, but their site states I am Blue.

Looks like I'm still a Diamond, until 2014.

My VA Gold benefits are going to lapse, since I'm already a HH D 'til end March 2014, and a PC P 'til end 2013, but my Gold will drop in September. At least it'll be waiting for me next time I get back up to VA Gold.

Me too. Not as many stays but one forward booking so far. I had thought there was a softer landing than that.

Still Diamond here, I wasn't expecting a drop so a bit relieved. My card has March 2014 exp and I did hit just hit the base points for Diamond last year.
Going to make the most of it as I think by next year I will have dropped to Gold with both Velocity and Hilton
