HHonors Gold/Diamond for Velocity Gold/Plat

As far as I aware you get a full year of membership year and the remainder of the current year. Hhonors membership year is January-December and you get grace until March.

I think opting in to say Hhonors Gold is tied in to attaining the relevant status via Hhonors itself which means if you attained Hhonors Gold now you would have Gold status through to March 2017. I am not sure what happens if you apply in January. You might be able to have it until March 2018.

Thanks - do you know how the qualification period works with this?
Will I need to requalify by 31 December or will I have 12 months from the date I joined?
Or does some other formula apply?

Thank you so much this has been a very timely clarification as I was planning to go mattress hopping to requalify by 31 December 2015.
I can now abandon that plan and stay in a quirky little apartment in Le Marais for a month instead!

If you don't already have any Hilton status - Invoke the benefit from January and have Gold status for up to 27 months.

If you are already HHonors Gold or Platinum- wait until April and invoke the Gold benefit after you drop to HHonors Silver or Blue to have the HHonors Gold status for up to 24 months.

A glitch is highly likely with VA's website/backend. In your case I'd be going for it!

FWIW I had HH Diamond, dropped to VA Gold.. and re-enrolled with HH Gold. So I got 2 bites of the cherry!

You'd probably be okay, but I certainly wouldn't wait any longer – they take forever to process it.

I've got about 20 nights of accomodation I need to book in the next week - and I'd like to take advantage of the stay 4 nights, get one free offer. If I book my rooms now (with 0 status), and then get the upgrade in time for the stays, would I get the reduced price and other benefits?

Deeps, I contacted the HHonorsRepresentative on Flyertalk by PM and my Diamond status was updated on my profile within 24 hours. Couldn't speak highly enough of their customer service unlike VA. FWIW I opted in on Feb 17 also and was getting nowhere with VA.

The card on my HHonors My Account has a March 2018 expiry also.

Hi guys,

My Gold Elite status just kicked in and I was wondering about a few of the benefits...

I'm staying at Hilton Brisbane over Easter, and in terms of the "free space available" upgrade, how often or likely is this to occur?

Also, do I have access to Executive lounges, or do I have to be staying in an Executive Room? Does the upgrade ever involve being upgraded to an executive room?

Lastly, is it more beneficial to choose "Points & Points" or "Points & Miles"?
