Spoke to someone from MAC. Ive been informed that we will get another cert with the $12k spend without waiting a year. As long as we hit $12k we will get the other cert. Received my first cert for the $2k spend within 3 days of spend.

completely different to what I was told and what i've experienced. also terms do state that it will be given on the card's anniversary date.

do let me know if you actually do receive it then I could give them another call. This is the 2nd year having this card and my anniversary date for the 2nd year is coming up in feb.

In my experience, even if you spend the 12K early in your card year, you only get the free certificate emailed to you on your card anniversary

Really liked this card for the weekend certificate at Hilton Conrad Maldives, however Macquarie's credit application makes it so hard to get approval. So many people have been rejected myself included

For points earn citi prestige is better as they are having a 4ppd spend promo on atm.

Yes, my experience was the same (certificate only sent out after anniversary despite meeting $12K spend much earlier). To me it seems like these certificates are designed to be a 'carrot' to keep punters paying the hefty annual fee - luckily I got mine waived for my second year

I called on monday wanting to cancel the card and hopefelly have them return the annual fee and they called me back on thursday. They halfed the annual fee and said that the $0 annual fee was for the first year only.

My anniversary date was in feb.

Above was for was for 2016..

Below is for this year

After being charged annual fee it put my card overlimit and was charged $30.
Called up wanting to cancel and was offered again to half the annual fee and reversing the $30 charge. Keeping the card again for another year

Has anyone else already with the Hilton Macquarie Plat card just received an email from Macquarie saying that "Your Hilton HHonors Macquarie Platinum Card application has been approved"? I haven't applied for a card since my original successful application back in August 2016, but didn't get any approval email back then. The first I knew of the approval back then was when my Hilton status changed, then the card turned up in the mail.

Playing catch-up with their old emails perhaps?

Same issuer (Macquarie), different card though - I just got an email and an SMS saying my application for the Woolworths Money Qantas Platinum card has been approved (I had successfully applied in November).

Sounds like Macquarie is having some IT issues...

On the first day of your second year with the card I believe.

Yep once the fee is charged for your 2nd year on your anniversary date.

I have received and spent my 2nd year cert but not received my statement with it showing yet.

Called to see if they would offer anything for me to keep the card and nothing they can do at all. I think I will can it and wait to see if they offer another fee free promo in the future.
