Maybe see if you could check out at least on the 31st then check back in?
Yeah, I was pondering that. My reservation was made just before this thread started but I see that Hilton are still selling rooms beyond 31 May. So I'll make a second overlapping reservation as insurance. I have a conference to go to, so the location is good.

Strong rumour has it a Conrad is next for Melbourne.

If right it must be a ways off - I've done a pretty good search of Hilton, conrad and doubletree looking for 'upcoming' hotels, normally new hotels or developments are advertised on the mother website at least a year out, sometimes 18 months or so - for Australia, there is nothing on any of the sites for _any_ developments whatsoever.

This, despite:

Hilton Worldwide Announces Third Perth DoubleTree by Hilton to Open in Partnership with SKS Group| Hilton Global Media Center

&

DoubleTree by Hilton, Perth Waterfront - SKS Group

So the 'newsroom' is making news and the actual building developer is making noise - yet the management side of DT, HH, Conrad aren't saying anything ... anyone have an idea of what that might mean? Maybe theres a real life difference between developing a property and actually opening the doors as a proper working hotel????

Slightly OT, but I was trying to find out about the DT Northbridge also. I saw it under construction towards the end of 2015. But nothing out there about opening date. I was over in Perth last week but didn't get a chance to wander by.

Any Perth locals been by there recently?

Last I heard, it was looking like opening early 2018.

(Plenty of hotels across all chains get announced that never seem to see the light of day)

Heard it too but everyone I've talked to from Hilton strongly denied Conrad will be returning to Australia.

The word is also no Hilton in MEL for at least 2 years.

We all know how dynamic the hospitality business is and things can change every day but at this stage I'm not optimistic Hilton will find suitable property to open new hotel in the near future. Wish I'm wrong tho.

Not the best news.

I see you wrote "Conrad will be returning", would you mind telling me where it was and what it is now? My interest in Hilton is only five years old.

Conrad Jupiter's Casino, Broadbeach Qld. Not the flashiest Conrad ever. Was opened in 1985.

Trolling the net is bringing up some malarkey about 'council' related issues with the construction and its now apparently delayed until at least 2019.

Breakfast for two and lounge access (both for two) confirmed for all Diamond members for bookings made before 31 May. (confirmed in an email). TBA if or when a status match may occur.

Major projects DA in Sydney has just gone in for 201-217 Elizabeth St in Sydney for a combined 350+RM hotel and ballroom and office development

Block south of Sheraton and will have similar Hyde Park views.
Would think that would be a perfect location for a Sydney Conrad.
(Be great for a mattress run as well)

Thanks for the confirmation Virgin Bart. They must have learnt from HoTP's lack of forward bookings when they didn't do the aforementioned.

The Pullman on the park did for me - although the booking was existing when the announcement was made.

Of course, no Hilton Points/stay/night credit. LeCLub did ok.

Props to management for responding to emails and tripadvisor reviews like they are still going to be around for a long time.

Any update (preferably from Hotel staff) when exactly the change will occur? This thread is title "...from May 31". But the OP article says "after 31 May" (but the link is now dead).

The PanPac website says "Opening June 2017" - no specific date and you can't book 01 June.

Last time I checked, Hilton was happily taking bookings beyond 01 June. But I guess that is not uncommon for hotels that get rebadged with out refurb?
