I'm there already so I'm in
New management can tell me why i should keep all my bookings for the rest of the year

According to Rush and Christian the new owners and Hilton will honour bookings and provide HH points until 31 December.

I am not aware who Rush and Christian are (I don't stay at the hotel much these days) but I can't recall a situation where points have been provided after the hotel has left the chain. I've seen benefits (lounge access etc) honoured but that is a different matter.

June 30th not gonna work for me but I'll be there on 25th and 26th if anyone's around. Can be nice to say goodbye to old management but don't really care about meeting the new guys as I'm not planing any future stays at Pan Pacific (apart from some leftover bookings made before the announcement).
The GM is staying on, as are many/most of the staff. So I guess it would be saying goodbye to one uniform, and greeting another. :)

Being an around-the-clock operation, one of the following will happen:
- some staff will be wearing Pan Pacific uniform while working at a Hilton (in the minutes before midnight), or
- some staff will be wearing Hilton uniform while working at a Pan Pacific (in the minutes after midnight), or
- all staff will be naked at midnight and all will be well.

I'm wondering if they will keep providing the excellent diamond treatment we got so far. I'm assuming lounge access, yes but suite upgrades, no.

Pretty normal when hotels are rebadged, you normally end up with the same staff (sometimes the senior staff stay, sometimes they move around the original comapny). A lot goes on behind the scenes though - they will likely have a new employer, be on a new payroll system, etc....

It may well have been agreed with Hilton to do this. It's certainly in Hiltons interest to take the money for the points! Not sure how they will process it though - maybe as some sort of bonus - I am not sure it would go toward your stay/niight count.

Sorry they are the Exec Lounge managers. Were a bit sketchy on details, to be fair. I didn't push as I have no further bookings anyway.

Apparently Vic Govt approvals are still outstanding - this is the holdup and causing minor uncertainty.

My understanding is that they would honour the booking, booking rates and HH benefits but not HH points/stays to the end of the year.

Points would be fair if a booking was pre-paid (and payment actually made, to the HSW). Rush did note the new management would have no system for transfer of points. As I said, I didn't push, so my info may be faulty - apologies if so.

So now it's the 1st June - has the handover happened or is it business as usual to a delayed date? Google search shows re-branded has happened - yet a search for Hilton South Wharf Melbourne still shows the old details (not too surprised with this latter search)....

Goodbye to the HSW, I loved staying there but now it is time to try other properties that aren't too far away (DT, Crowne Plaza) for my irregular overnighters or conferences.

When there couple of days ago there was no sign of change. Was told it's delayed at least until 30th June.

Don't hold you breath coolumbla - they never like admitting that they are losing properties to manage (it's not good for business). Similar with delays (DT Perth for example). The silence is deafening

I walked past the DT Perth site a couple of weeks ago. A long way to go but it wasn't obvious if there was current activity or the whole project had stalled. A real shame as I'm looking for something different to the CP.

At least I got my stay in at the HSW last week. It was originally going to straddle the change over! First and probably only visit to the Exec lounge...

Stayed over the weekend of the 17-19th of June as a Diamond HH member. I received all the usual benefits with room upgrade, executive lounge access etc. You wouldn't even know that there was going to be a takeover unless you read it online.

Bumped into Craig (GM) this morning who confirmed that the official changeover will take place at midnight 27/7/17. So one more month for us to enjoy HSW. :)
Also apologies for not organising the last hurrah, been pretty flat out at work. I'm likely to be there on 18 or 19/7. Will try to organise something.

Changeover is getting later

Last week there with Mrs Deka2 and told it would be mid July.

Stayed three nights, no upgrade for the first night but informed on checkin we could be upgraded to a suite for the following two nights.

Left Mrs Deka2 to sort it out on the second day and got a text late in the morning that we were now in room 1902 (Relaxation Suite)
