HKG lounge crawl 8 June 2014

I'm expecting the yum cha contingent to arrive at around 1.30 - 2pm, depending on the queues at customs and security.

As for the lounges:

CX Pier F is closed, but J is still open, and opens till 11.30pm
CX Bridge is open all day till last departure
CX Cabin is the same.
CX Wing F is also the same.
CX Wing J likewise as well, although I was in there once at 4.30am.
KA G16 closes at midnight, but I'm not sure if it's actually worth the visit.
BA Lounge, not too sure what's happening there these days. Can't find opening hours information.
QF Lounge, open 3pm till midnight

For those on QF flights, the EK lounge opening hours are not posted on the website, but the first flight is about 6.30pm so it should be open from at least the mid-afternoon.
And as I'm flying on MH, I might still be able to access the Plaza Premium Lounge. Why would I do that? I don't know either. But it's open 24 hours, so if I'm too intoxicated, I can try to crash there for the night.

And for those arriving on Sun, if you're feeling adventurous, there is also the Arrival.

BA Lounge is QF lounge
Plaza Premium has a new lounge out in the high gate numbers which is opposite EK lounge and may be worth a look in just for fun

I have had a look at the CX website and it is not clear if the Arrivals lounge can be accessed if just transiting. Might have to play it by ear.

Edit: maybe plan B should be head for the CX Wing F lounge on arrival anyway.
if our CX flights turn up next to each other I will wait lol

I think you tick all the boxes...? :)

First and Business Class passengers, Gold tier members or above of The Marco Polo Club and Emerald members of oneworld™ on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair arriving same day in Hong Kong OR transiting same day with more than 4 hours of transit time are welcomed to visit our arrivals lounge.

If BA is using the QF lounge, then what has happened to the dungeon next to gate 15? Renovations?

Although keep in mind the Arrival has more restrictive access rules than what normally would apply to other lounges. e.g. even as an OWE, I cannot access it if I arrive in Y in an airline that is not CX/KA, and you would not be able to guest (if I remember correctly).

I'm just looking at my ticket and it's a mess, large multi-sector booking with a alliance pass conjunction ticket added on. Looks like I'm booked on both the 7th and 17th ex-MXP, both are coming up as confirmed so I better sort it out. Uh arrivals lounge is no guests and pretty small anyway, good for some noodles but their pasta isn't bad either if you're missing Europe already. I should be down there early morning having a shower, I may make a dash for Kowloon and specifically Mong kok and pick up stuff, didn't get much of a chance in Akihabara last month.

Not sure if myself or anyone else has mentioned this yet but if you have a foreign SIM in your phone and roam on PCCW, dial *165# you'll get a SMS for 24 hrs of wifi access.

So was anyone else going to The Arrival in the morning?

I have access to arrivals on Sat night, but think it is closed and really don't care anyway. From my previous visit, it was a nice place to relax after a long haul, but really on the league of a Qantas Club at 10am in the morning.

The arrivals lounge is average anyway... You can stay for a few minutes if you really want, but your best bet is to clear transit security and head to The Wing F lounge.

Yes, you are correct on both counts.
It's also a bugger to find.
It is quite small, no guests and the food offerings limited, but IMHO its value is if you have a long transit and want to head into town for a few hours, or are going to go straight to a meeting: a quick shower and a bite to eat before taking the MTR.
I think JT expressed an interest in attending this lounge for "completeness" of the crawl? i.e. visiting all of the OW/accessable lounges. :)

You are quite right; Arrivals attendance is to help 'collect the set'. And I may pick up Anna and mickeyc747 on the way through.

Thank you for the advice that access is ok if transiting too.

As a OWS I won't be able to access the arrivals (only arriving in PE). In regards to lounge access, I should be with a WP so no issues getting into the F lounges. ;)

I am a WP 1 and happy to guest you in, as the person that was coming with me has had to change plans.

Thanks for the offer, but as I'm travelling to / from LON, SIN and HKG with Mal hopefully should be right for guesting (sans arrivals)!

There's always the option to use the Plaza Arrivals with Priority Pass - they operate CX Arrivals also

im thinking of doing a TPE turn - I've been travelling too much of late and couldn't stomach much more than that!

this would see me on the 640pm flight to TPE on CX and then straight back on the 9pm flight,

i could then join up with the group anytime during the day beforehand
