I'm platinum for this. Flights and hotels booked. I'm having 4 nights in Kuala Lumpur on the way over and 3 nights in Hong Kong. I'm on QF128 on the way back with an upgrade to J requested. The beer festival sounds like fun.

i'm based in hkg thinking of joining...
just thinking if there was a way to go to the lounge w/o actually flying...

Technically speaking, all you need to do is say that you no longer want to travel after the lounge crawl. A refundable/changable ticket would probably be the way to go. However, I wouldn't want to be the one trying to explain to immigration why I no longer want to fly out.

Book the cheapest nastiest CX ticket to TPE, will cost you way less than the booze and food we will stuff you with ;)

You would be better booking elsewhere, thats one of the more expensive routes in the world, around $900 AUD return.

I've scored some total bargains on that route (one way admittedly) to get into some ex TPE fares. From memory they were non ref/non change adv pur fares. (May have been dragon air tix now that I think of it) my brain isn't functioning well today.

You do get some good fares with a minimum stay, but often your much better off with a QF classic award redemption.

Ok, I'm staying at the Shangri-la TST. Good award. 50% off an Exec Suite.
Arghh! Not enough GC points to join you - should have stayed at the Shang instead of Hilton all this time I was in Syd! Conrad's redemption is simply crazy. Thinking of staying at the new-ish Crowne Plaza at Kowloon East. Anyone knows how that is like?

A month ago I didn't have enough points either. ;) I ❤️ 50% off redemptions on weekends.

Haven't stayed there before, mainly due to the fact that it's miles away from everywhere. There is a MTR (subway) station very close by, however, so it's ok if you don't mind the travel time. Keep in mind that it's in the opposite side of HKG from the airport, so it will take you quite some time to get there and back.

Yes Shrek and I are there. QF 127 on the 10th :D

Medical planning meeting number 2!

J lounge QF127 somewhere on the way to HKG

I thought you were flying CX f? or was that in January

And i know we're at the same hostelry but i suspect I'm not in the same room type!
