HKG lounge crawl 8 June 2014

The lounge/bar is seldom used IME, though I have only ever been downstairs so walked up occasionally for fun or to use the old larger bathrooms to change prior to the refit.

Wondering which will be longer, the queue for the frequent visitor card or the queue that it helps you avoid
I will also be around then.
Although, if some *$%^*@# P1 has stolen *my* points upgrade to F, I might be sulking

The initial signup can take a little bit of time if there are other people waiting, however it is definitely worth it. The regular queue can sometime take a good 10 minutes, e-channel is 5 seconds every time.

Who is trying to upgrade on which flights? The F cabins are somewhat empty so I imagine there will be some last minute upgrades going on.

Just to confirm I'm 100% attending now. Flying in on CX234 from MXP in F. Will be at The Arrivals around 0700 freshening up. Will probably leave my carry on at the left luggage around the corner then come into Kowloon and will see everyone at the W.

After arriving on 128 I'll spend the day in Sydney and take the last flight to ADL, QF785. Was thinking about trying the 717 J product in the mid morning but engrossing myself with long transits lately. May join anyone on the bus over to T3 then get the 400 to Bondi Junction.

Did we still need to arrange anything in the HK QF lounge? Between all of us flying F & P1s we should be able to pull something. If it's like the SIN run last year, anyone stuck in Y should be well looked after

I have the HK frequent visitor barcode at the back of my passport which was linked to my APEC which has since expired. Do you think it's easier to renew or do I still need to demonstrate the min 4 visits to get a new one?...

I suggest you skip the normal queues and try the lanes that have the PP scanner - whilst I do have a barcode it did not work, but my "Machine Redabale" PP was accepted - I guess the computers have a reasonably long memory.

Given it's F9A8, with 9 unoccupied I'd be pissed if it didn't come through. Looks like a good upgrade season for anyone applying. The real question is, who is going to get stuck with the F seats??

Oh and Anna, the newer dark QF F PJ's are nice but they've got nothing on the CX ones. Similar quality to SQ but better design. I'll see if I can get a spare set.

Thats a daily double upgrade to F on both QF 127 & QF 128 loving P1 a week out from travel and upgrades confirmed.

I guess we all love to complain about the lottery process, but if it was other airlines with instant confirmations, some NB somewhere who booked a long time ago would've gotten upgrades before all of us.

Don't have enough points for upgrades on both 127 and 128 without going into intra-family points debt, so it will be either 127 or 128 for a points upgrade for me, not both. Maybe neither of course if the upgrade fairy is mean. In which case, 11E it is.

I've made note of this. Not sure the dates will work for me, but we will see.

I have a ticket originating in LAX on 8 June, but depending on the work situation I may need to juggle things around a bit.

To update on this, my ticket originating in LAX has been moved to next year, and I am actually going to be in Singapore over this do weekend.

I am still not sure if I can come, because I might be entertaining over the weekend, but I will be "closer" than I would have otherwise been.

Oh dear, I hope you don't have to slum it in J both ways . I suggest you try for only 127 as that is a day flight and you will not have to interrupt the F experience with sleep. Also, that will leave an additional seat free in F on 128 for my op-up!
