HKG lounge crawl 8 June 2014

For next year if be happy with HKG again given I missed a few lounges due to my own stupidity. But what about shanghai or perhaps Beijing? Are there decent lounges collections there?

PVG has the CX and JL lounges, and the QF one is a 3rd party lounge. PEK has only the CX lounge, and everything else is 3rd party. Not sure when we'll be back in HKG, but we'll definitely drop by again when the renos are finished at the Pier F and the BA dungeon. And I don't think there's anywhere else in Asia with good lounges where we can spot an A380, a 748, and a 788 within the space of an hour.

No - would definitely not recommend either for lounges.

Lounges are rubbish, and even worse for OneWorld (c.f. *A).

But perhaps a good location for a do... I have been toying with organising a PEK do for a while.

I should echo everyone to say it was great to see everyone and socialise. Always after these types of gatherings I wonder if I did actually talk to anyone as the time goes so quickly.

It was great. Thank you all.

The weekend also provided scouting opportunities for the next family holiday.

For PVG and PEK...the short answer is No - best to stick to HKG :)

But we have visited them.

And I will visit them again.

How about a lounge crawl in MNL? Extremely boring. It is not just about varying the destination. You need the quality and variety.

But I am not the one organising.

Just got an email announcing more Dreamliner routes to Japan. Cns lounges and then nrt?

If we are talking about next time already seriously, let me throw another idea out there...

Start in KLIA (cheap place to stay/overnight/fly in direct or xSIN), there is the large MAS complex, so-so CX & regional golden lounge... then everyone get a cheap flight to SIN and continue in SIN and BA/AY/QF/CX connection departure from there.

That can work, I guess. If we have a mid-morning departure from KUL on MH, we can have breakfast in the F dining section. After which, we can do a crawl through SIN, although there are only the tiny MH lounge, the Skyview lounge which isn't that interesting, the BA and QF lounges which don't open until the mid-afternoon, and the EK lounge for those who have access.

Within Asia, I guess only NRT, SIN, and HKG would be worth visiting for a crawl as such. Out of the 3, NRT is the only one that we haven't done yet, although in terms of quality and variety, I would say HKG is the winner.

... Sooo ... you not going back to the Wing or the MEL / SYD First lounges since you have already visited them then? ... :p
When the sole purpose of the day it is to visit a variety of lounges, it would be nice to go somewhere different each time.
Would be great if we decided before 30 June so I could get one last MASA in.
Indeed, the clock is ticking.

Damn and I thought it was all about meeting me ROFLMAO :)

What OW Lounges do they have in DXB?

Is there anyone else who's still waiting for QF128 to credit?

I had 2 flights on Sunday OOL-SYD and SYD-MEL, still hasn't posted. My wife's also didn't post she has put a points claim in and got her points few hours later, I am still waiting.. must be a problem.
