How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I want to try Conrad in DPS this year - be good if you could write up a short TR and a photo or 2.

I have been there before. Its amazing. Forget the club suites, get a Lagoon Room, ground floor, walk through the pool straight to the pool bar at 09.00 and get a Mango Margarita for breakfast. Then head to the Jiwi Spa for a 2.5 hour session (no happy ending) followed by a afternoon knocking back Margaritas and Heineken at the pool bar or on the beach restaurant (I think its called East)

I was there for 10 days, cost me $8,000 ($560 for a bottle of Dom Perignon) but I only left the resort twice, once to get razors (Gillette Mach 3) and the other time to get sun screen. I am lead to believe that certain alcohol imports have a very high import tax at the moment.

Well worth it. I am sure Bali is nice but beyond the Conrad I am not really sure, that all I have seen.

My former employer who organised my stay is best friends with the General Manager so I may of been treated differently but I don't think I was, I think it was the norm.

As a six year HHonors Gold/Diamond that is the case.

FWIW, until August 2008 there were different rules for North American properties and elsewhere. NA had guaranteed bennies, elsewhere did not - although most time the upgrade occurred.

e.g. The Parmelia Hilton in Perth used to provide good upgrades but no breakfast (it does not have an exec lounge).
certainly not all when i was diamond-definitely doesn'y happen at Hilton NYC and Hilton LAX.confirmed on this thread on FT-
Gold/Diamond Breakfast at Hilton family properties (master thread) - FlyerTalk Forums

Seems to me from that thread that HHonors benefits in relation to breakfast are given at those properties (albeit basic):
...
Hilton LAX Airport: Continental breakfast in lounge only
...
Hilton New York (Ave of the Americas): Continental breakfast only in lounge
...
I would assume that a Gold member who fails to get lounge access at either property would be given a voucher or similar for continental breakfast.

At Hilton NYC the exec lounge is a zoo. They serve breakfast as well in the Tuscany restaurant downstairs-a very basic continental.i suspect that is where golds go.
No idea re LAX.

HH Diamond
Conrad Bangkok
28 December - 5 January
Room Booked: King Guestroom
Rate: About $145 ai (December Sale) per night
Room Received: King Executive

Pretty good considering it was over new year.
4 Bottles of water a day, fruit bowl replenished daily, flowers changed every two days or so, note from ??, chocolates on last day, breakfast in lounge or downstairs resturant. 3 items pressed for free and express laundry for normal charge which is handy.

I'm quite happy with a proper dress code in the lounge, they weren't too strict I think due to holidays. But they should have been, a few people came in every morning in gym gear - much like at HSW. I don't expect collar and tie - but that should be shown the door.

Returned 11 January
Room Booked: King Executive Room
Rate: Premium Reward 35,000 points (got 11,000 back for some promo)
Room Received: King Executive Corner Room

Much the same as before, great sized room. They said they'd upgraded me to an executive room which I didn't correct, but I do wonder if that means I missed out on a better upgrade because they thought they'd given me one.

Hilton Singapore
12 January
Room Booked: Standard King
Rate: QTR4 Free Night Cert
Room Received: Executive King

Free bottled water, no note, breakfast downstairs included. Minibar had a 330ml Heineken for I think SGD $13 ++. Also remind me why I have to pay a 10% "service charge" on minibar? What service? Needless to say we dined in the lounge and then went to Wicked which +1 loved.

Yes, I agree with you here. I've also seen sweaty spandex dressed men and women in the HSW lounge and really.... whats the problem with these people? Are they _looking_ to create trouble?

New HH Gold here, have booked a one night stay at the Sydney Hilton for a Wednesday night at the end of January, into a basic 'guest room plus'. What are the chances of an upgrade or any recognition?

Assuming that I do not receive exec room/lounge access, does this mean my continental breakfast entitlement will be in the 'Glass' restaurant? Is there a voucher system or just names on a list?

Very well, I required an early check-in (just by an hour) so asked via email a few days before hand and included an inquiry about breakfast. After an initial response recommending the buffet breakfast at $42 each, I reminded them on my gold entitlement to a continental and they replied saying they would ensure I received an executive room. Service was excellent throughout, including the executive lounge attendant offering me drinks even as I was checking-out.

However it might all change under the new rules for golds mentioned in the other thread:

Its impressive when they do it well.

One wonders if the hotel managers will pretty much continue as they have done for years and provide good upgrades for their elites. It will probably come down to how this stuff is managed and compensated, if indeed it is even compensated, by the larger Hilton group.

Before the rules change there was very good value to be had in the usual upgrade from a base room to an Executive room. Now the value add is potentially much more subtle, some customers may not value this subtely at all, opening the floor to competition, presumably, from surrounding hotels. Astute hotel managers will be well aware of this.

We'll have to get a few mattress reports to see where its heading on the ground I suppose.

I'm starting to love HH as a Virgin Oz Diamond. I see this morning that my free certificate night at HSW has been upgraded to a King Corner Suite which looks like a magnificient room with lounge access. I can't even imagine IC Melbourne upgrading on a reward night. Looking forward to it on a nice sunny Melbourne day.

Does anyone know how the Hilton FIJI treat Diamonds?

Their published benefits are a room upgrade, free breakfast and internet.

Since we already have a 3 bedroom villa booked (this appears to be their highest room grade) and breakfast is included in the rate, what can they provide as a bonus other than the internet?

Possibly some HHonors points.

My last weeks's paid stay at Hilton Adelaide at HH Gold I got upgraded to Executive Floor, with lounge access AND full hot buffet breakfast for 2 downstairs. I don't know whether this is got to do with new policy (as it never mention free hot breakky).

They treat you very well.

They currently do not have a lounge but have Managers drinks on a Wed evening. I have personally met the hotel GM. He is a great guy and an AFF member and has invited people to contact him.

I would send him a PM if I was you. AFF user name Frederic Lebegue which just happens to be his real name also.

See Post #12 here.

Last night Hilton Adelaide upgraded me to Exec Floor room with full Exec Floor benefits as Gold member.
