How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Any advice for a hilton gold (on base points, so only 1 stay this year) with my stay in the Conrad Singapore.

I've got 3 nights so have paid for 2 nights in a King Executive room and booked the last night on a free night certificate (base room). Should I try for an upgrade for the last night at checkin, email them early or is there a thread on FT with a Conrad Singapore rep?

Thanks

The Conrad Singapore is an outstanding property. From my days as Gold, I received a complimentary executive floor upgrade. It will be interesting how you fare under the changes to the program announced in the past week or so.

Very convivial and thoughtful of you cove, I know he'd kill for it where he is now!

I am hoping Flashware is enjoying Africa as much as we did. He was getting down to shots to protect him from shots so medically he has been very careful!
i am not sure if he is in a Hilton Club room out in Africa but it should be a great experience if he ever wants to write a novel or two.

It's been a very eye opening experience! No Hilton Club rooms around Conakry, and definitely nothing near NZE. The "airport" @ NZE is now the most interesting one I've ever been to! Makes PBO look like a palace

Come on - LER and WME were just pill boxes. So what if it's just a shack? ;)

"Shack" would be putting it nicely... the picture on Facebook actually makes it look a lot better than it was!

A big improvement here compared to my last stay: Late checkout, turndown, GM welcome message, water, internet. Also, for the first time in forever I got a room that wasn't facing the MCG/train line ... ahh peace and quiet. Lovely.

I agree - however, SWMBO prefers the view over Yarra Park (MCG etc.)

Interesting thread I will keep an eye on over the coming months. I was all set as HHonors Gold to book a stay for Hilton Adelaide later in the year for their guest King Room @ $165/night during the recent % off weekends promotion. I was keen for the Exec Club benefits etc. that seemed like a certain as I understood old terms, but then as I geared up for booking, found out about their changes and aborted the move! It was a deal breaker for me on this occasion and now I'm wondering whether I should have just gone ahead or not... hmmm... will keep an eye on other's experience and maybe wait for another deal!

Nice upgrade sort of - the decor seemed a little dated but certainly lots of space. Also as anyone who knows me on facebook will know the extra walk from the lift was quite painful and almost would have preferred an 18th floor close to the exec lounge. Strangely I couldnt hack the TV and run my iPad through it this time...

I enjoyed this stay more than my prior at HSW as again.

Also the new benefits for Diamond were highlighted to me on check in. These were:

"As a Diamond member we have the following benefits - free internet, bonus 1000 points, exec lounge access and upgrade to a suite"

It was actually said almost in the tone that as a Diamond I will be upgraded to a suite - be interesting to test as I have quite a few Hilton stays booked over the next few months...

If this is the case, then I'm very excited about the recent changes - things are getting better for Diamonds. As a HH Diamond that has never had a room upgrade to a suite, I'll be very keen to have them in future!

Its nice to see HHD's get upgraded to suites. I have a couple of stays in the next week or so, so we'll see how I fare with my newly minted HHD status (thanks to VA of course). My first stay as a HHD .... at the Hilton Adelaide, was upgraded to an Exec Room.

Anyway, the next couple stays as a HHD will determine whether I stay with SPG who have been very nice to me with upgrades in recent years.

Bill,
May I ask how they know this is your preferred room?

I note a preferred room type on our profile page, but it only seems to list king or double config., high or low floor or close to elevator. Where do we list suites etc, or do they just know their regular guests?

We do stay there a reasonable amount and I just make sure they know.

I was talking to the Reservations Manager (I think that's her position) about my recent trip to India (where she comes from) and she has put it in my records.
