How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Been staying at the Parmelia Hilton Perth for the last 3 weeks and had always been upgrade to a King Suite with full buffet breakfast. Downside is there is no lounge at this hotel, but they usually give out drinks card for the Adelphi bar.

Staff is very friendly and even remembers my name (not just one, pretty much the whole front desk remember my name).

Hotel is a bit old but service is first class.

Hilton Surfers (again). Upgrade from 1 bed apartment to 2 bed apartment. 2 bottles of water (small), exec lounge access and complementary internet. All staff very friendly and accomodating, but no card from GM.

Update on previous post re: HSP,

Newspaper was delivered upon checking in and again this morning. I rung the "Magic" line to enquire about whether breakfast was just in the exec lounge and was offered full buffet in the Luke Mangan "Salt" restaurant, in lieu. I had to go to work, so took breakfast earlier than my wife and was welcomed at breakfast with a chirpie "Oh, a diamond member", but my +1 was told later that breakfast was continental only, but later came over and advised her it was full buffet. I guess it comes back to that old addage, "hope for, but don't expect".

The buffet breakfast was very nice as was the canapes in the lounge last night (I think the canapes would have rated the best I've had at a Hilton so far).

Once again, Hilton has easily met any expectations I've had and the product I've tried so far has been excellent. My issues trying to book HSW last year are almost forgotten ;).

For the record, attire in the exec lounge has always been "as expected" at HSP. I've not noticed gym attire/beach attire/pool attire at all but YMMV.

If you ask Clare or one of her lounge team, they will give you a voucher to present downstairs.

My stay a couple of nights ago at HSW. Used my complimentary night voucher and was upgraded the previous day from a standard king to a corner exec suite - xx02 (though that's not the correct name). All up the room was excellent - bed very comfortable and view up the river great. Evening canapes were good, the wine decent and the next morning club breakfast tasty and comprehensive. All up a superb Diamond treatment on a free night certificate and far superior to what I would have got in Melbourne IC or indeed Sydney. Next visit, which will be paid, I'll try the restaurant breakfast. We ate dinner at Nuevo 37 and was okay but nothing special.

I thought that Claire was at HSW. Did she move to Surfers?

DC3, I think he mixed up HSP with HSW - at first glance, very similar and they were both mentioned in the two sentences. It's alright, we can forgive him this once...it might be an age thing :o :p

NM in Adelaide?? Did your plane go u/s mid air and divert there...thought you'd be in HKG or KUL (or similar).
Nahh, just a different project. Might be spending a little more time there in the next few months. Just an overnight trip this week.

I didn't realise we could get the restaurant breakfast at HSW - I'm going to enjoy this when I'm there in March!

I've eaten at Nuevo 37 a lot, and I agree with you. They need to work on the menu, its just not comprehensive enough to keep you interested after a few days. Even on subsequent trips, months apart, its the same menu and I quickly get bored.

The staff are great though, really know their business

Hilton on the Park Melbourne
HH Diamond
When: 4-5 February
Rate: $155 government rate
Room booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Room received: Relaxation Suite.

4 bottles of water in the room and a welcome letter from the GM. The Executive Lounge was nice though perhaps trumped by ADL for the afternoon tea spread. Alena, who is there of an evening, is lovely and proactively offered drink refills.

Hilton Canary Wharf (London)

As HHG (VA, but almost there on stays too)
Checkin: 20 Jan for 3 night stay, allowed late checkout without charge to 3pm, could have stayed later for a fee.
Paid: $484 (311 pounds) for a double hilton guestroom (Any weekend anywhere promotion)
Upgrade: Yes, to executive level with lounge access
Breakfast: In exec lounge included; asked if could come down to restaurant, told that this wasn't included in room rate so would be chargable. Lounge breakfast had a sufficient range for me, so stuck with the freebie!
Lounge: I thought it was fab, since they had afternoon tea 3-5.30pm and then "light evening meal" 6-9.30ish - no reason to spend money on food anywhere else if you don't want to! Reasonable range of soft drinks and juices, however as a non-drinker I can't comment on the range of alcoholic beverages, sorry!
Room: Standard Hilton exec really, IMHO quite sizable for London (esp compared with Hilton Hyde Park standard room!), nice views of the rain that set in the second I landed
Greeting from CSM: About an hour after checkin, a hotel employee knocked on my door with a CSM letter and a platter of goodies - essentially 3 shot glasses, one each with fresh pineapple, fresh berries, and a white/dark chocolate mousse, plus a piece of oatmeal slice - delicious.
2 complimentary bottles of water in room, seemed to be restocked daily, however there was also more in the exec lounge and noone batted an eyelid when guests walked out of lounge witha bottle or 2. Annoyingly they were all the glass Strathmore bottles of water, so rather heavy if you threw one into your bag for sightseeing.
Facilities: Didn't try any, but I think there is a fitness centre, not sure about pool. Also restaurant, bar etc
Access: I flew into LCY, which I loved, despite poor views due to low cloud and rain. Was on DLR about 10 mins after landing; DLR South Quay station is the closest to the hotel. Canary Wharf Tube was also an easy walk with suitcases (lift/escalators all the way) and that puts you on the Jubilee line, where you can interchange to LHR via tube. I went to Kings Cross/St Pancras and could do an interchange with lifts at London Bridge station, so hassle-free really!

Trip Advisor ranks this as #18 in London and best of the Hiltons, and certainly I didn't have any problems and enjoyed the stay. Main issue would likely be the location in Docklands, which is a bit further away from the main tourist centres, but having been to London on multiple occasions I loved the change in area and of course the Tube/DLR make access to everything easy.

agreed. the staff are excellent and know how to 'behave' around hotel guests

Drmikki we were also really impressed with Hilton Canary Wharf. That 9 pound upgrade for the lounge upstairs certainly eliminates the need to hit restaurants. Great view from the club lounge and I was so happy with the lounge I got Flashware over to help polish off a bit of the food and drink. The lounge was quite relaxed about having a guest or two come over for drinks.

The staff were amazing too.

Very convivial and thoughtful of you cove, I know he'd kill for it where he is now!

I am hoping Flashware is enjoying Africa as much as we did. He was getting down to shots to protect him from shots so medically he has been very careful!
i am not sure if he is in a Hilton Club room out in Africa but it should be a great experience if he ever wants to write a novel or two.
