How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

When are you there? I'm travelling through Scotland and England from 6th-17th April. 6-8 Glasgow, 8-10 Edinburgh, 10-12 York, 12-17 London.

I'm arriving in London on 10 April in the evening. Important function on 14 April, then 15 April - 23 April is undecided - don't know whether I'll stay in London, around the UK or I'll go to somewhere else in Europe (and the lengths of any of those three options is also undetermined at the moment). I need to get back to London by the morning of 24 April as that's when I'm flying out of LCY.

I'm really on the outskirts of London and then a fair way out, but this week the pricing has been as follows:

Hilton LHR T4 - GBP89.00 (Saturday Night)
Hilton Watford - GBP85.00
Hilton Milton Keynes - GBP89.00
Hilton Bromsgrove - GBP69.00
Hilton LHR T4 - GBP172.00

The latter LHR T4 stay is handy because I can dump the rental car the day before and walk over to T4.

Just got back from the UK as well.

Hilton Cardiff - ok. Upgrade - poor -until complained - then great. Exec lounge too small
Double Tree Bristol - nice hotel. Deluxe room upgrade - great restaurant
Hilton Tewkesbury - ok hotel - no upgrade, no nothing
Hilton Bromsgrove - lovely upgrade of the carpark - disliked the place - will avoid going back
Hilton Birmingham Metropole - big busy hotel. Exec room upgrade, Great exec lounge staff.
Hilton London Paddington - ok - exec room upgrade (but usual London service!)

As a diamond (earnt the hard way) nothing special. Then again prices are so low in the UK compared to other countries I suspect there are lots of UK based diamonds.

Also went to
Hilton Rome Airport - ok. Upgrade to exec rooms.
WA Cavalieri Rome - upgrade deluxe view plus room, Imperial lounge access (best lounge ever :p); looked after in every way - faultless!

Ah, if you decide to stay in London, let me know! Would be fun to meet another AFFer!

I'm still coming to terms with the GBP5.00 car park charge. The manager there is a nice chap though and I have to say I have been looked after and upgraded on my visits. I'll be spending 20+ nights there this year.

Why? Too low? Too high? No car park facility? I'm not sure what you're referring to.

The fact that there is a car park charge at all. You get used to it at airports, but Bromsgrove and Warwick are hardly at the centre of anything. I noticed that there was no charge at Watford.

Ok thanks. Unusual for the place then. I guess I'm just used to Hilton charging for parking here in Oz.

What were your thoughts of the Hilton Budapest (castle area)? I loved it, great hotel. However, no status at the time so no talk of upgrades etc. I managed to get a good room on a cheap rate, even after I rejected them trying to talk me up to something more. I found the breakfast there to be exceptional. Did they have an exec level?

Fantastic stay at Hilton Budapest.

I paid EUR63 on Hotel Travel, so did not have the heart to ask for upgrade.

I did however let the diamond card slip out when I gave them my credit card;)

Oh Mr "Kef" you are a diamond member....why did you not say so.....I must give you an upgrade!

Exec club level with access to lounge (but no view....but what can you expect)....free booze in lounge!!

There's 2 Hiltons there, which one was it?

Ah! My non-upgraded (as I didn't have status at the time) room had a nice view out over the Matthias Chapel and Danube River :D

No view for me but the exec lounge has great view

The Trafalgar.
Booked Double as 50k points redemption.
Upgraded to Double deluxe. Personal greeting from the Guest Relations manager, offered tour of hotel.
Achingly hip hotel but loses points as no Exec Lounge.
Would be happy to stay here again

Hilton Tower Bridge - just an upgrade to the exec floor (not sure if it is an upgrade from King STD to Deluxe)

Hilton Berlin : upgraded to executive room but no view. Bowl of fruit on arrival. Free WiFi but needs to be renewed daily. General service excellent with a couple of bottles of red thrown in over a 6 day period and some nice chocs on one night.

Thanks to Virgin for the Diamond membership but unlikely to retain.

Sent from my iPad using Aust Freq Fly app and carrier pigeons

Hilton Cairns 18th March 2012
Booked King Hilton Room, $174 less 20%
Upgraded to King Executive Room.
2 bottles of water in room. Full breakfast option in the Lounge.
Executive Lounge was small and basic food, but lots of fun with the Executive Lounge Manager - she was a hoot!

Yep, the Cairns Hilton lounge has generally been a friendly place.

HOP $275 for Hilton guest room (paying $50 out of my own pocket as above agreed rate with the Sebel) - upgraded to Relaxation Suite - third time in a row. Just off to the Exec lounge now :)
