Very impressed with Sydney Hilton, love the private drive through laneway port-cochere. The check-in manager (Tony) rates as possibly the best I've come across (in any hotel chain). Room, I thought was small (even though it was a corner exec.), but was more than adequate as only Lisa and I this trip. Exec lounge was superb and the nibblies were of a high standard (not to mention very tasty). Best of all is location. Very handy. We'll certainly be back.

Great going at Sydney Hilton this year.

4 stays, of which two were upgraded to standard exec level king room (from super cheap guest room).
1 was upgraded to King Relaxation Suite and the other to a King Suite.

The only flexible rate I paid (~$430) ended up with the smallest room of the lot.

Big like for Sydney Hilton.

Booked: Hilton King Guest, various rates, 4800-9000 rubles/night (AUD 158-295/night - there seems to be a conference here so it was more expensive than usual)
Received: Twin Executive Room (we decided to just take it and not argue). Welcome beer and food platter with note from GM.

This hotel is just gorgeous - the Executive Lounge is this beautiful gold roofed room with wonderful service, great food, good coffee and an excellent canapes selection at night which often made our dinner. It's reasonably convenient to everything via the red line Metro, too.

We'll be back!

I submitted feedback on the inconsistency of service at BNE.

Received the auto-reply from Hilton, stating that they have forwarded my comments to the hotel and would await their response.

Received another email a few days later noting that BNE had failed to respond, apologising, and sending out a Free Night certificate as compensation for not getting a response.

Can't complain at that

Got - Hilton Exec floor Twin Single!!! Not happy
Revised Got - Al sultan suite - two bathrooms, king bed, large living room, dining table

Access to Exec Lounge (though there is also a club room but I have NFI what that is) but that is only worth it for breakfast given the canapes and drinks are somewhat limited in Saudi...

Received: Upgrade to King Executive Room, Letter from GM, bottles of water (which taste like sea water!), and Exec Lounge Access. Breakfast in Executive Lounge or Restaurant.

I have to say, I probably won't stay here again. It's clean, and a nice hotel, but it's a little bit out in the boonies for Madrid - a guesthouse in Central Madrid would be much more fun. Executive Lounge is a little spartan. There's a nice Lavazza coffee machine, but otherwise the Executive Lounge is a bit dull and the food isn't that great. It's also rare to see a member of staff in the Executive Lounge so you can't get assistance.

One in SWMBO's name (HH Gold) and one in my name (HH Diamond). It was the best way to get 2 appropriate rooms incl HPC discount for 3 adults and 3 kids.

SWMBO has already been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite city view and I have no upgrade :!:

I hope Fiji drys out a bit for you :shock: (not to mention for the poor Fijians).

PS, you can get diamond points and upgrades etc for up to 2 rooms in a single booking. Only downside is that you still only get counted as one stay.
