I was pretty sure (and was able to confirm this morning at breakfast) that I was not checking in alongside NM. And it was nice to meet him too - my first AFF meeting and hopefully one of many. The Hilton Meeting Master Thread works!

With 4 in party, hopefully bay view 2 bedroom will be the worst offered. Given the huge wrap the HSW gets here on AFF, I'll certainly be disappointed if they "miss the mark"......(and I don't actually mean room upgrade there, I do realise that's dependant upon bookings), especially in light of the Langhams Melbourne offer going right now....I'd love to take that one up.

Exec lounge access (inc. free alcohol), newspaper (on a Sunday morning), Lindt chocolates in the room, note from the GM, large bottle of water, and choice of a continental breakfast in the lounge, or a full cooked breakfast buffet in the restaurant.

Received: Executive King Hilton Guest Room

Lounge only open for breakfast and for evening drinks and canapés from 5pm - 8pm. Breakfast was also available in the restaurant. The internet (wifi and ethernet) was abysmal with low or no signal. I complained after a few days and an IT person came to check it out but we got no satisfaction. On checkout, I commented about it and the receptionist agreed with me and told me the hotel were upgrading the internet! No HMPV discount at Hanuman Restaurant as it is owned by a third party. 2 bottles of water per day. Local newspaper delivered 3 out of 5 days. No turn-down service. The waterfront area in front of the hotel is undergoing a major upgrade so there is considerable noise during the day and a generator continued to run throughout the night. Luckily there was no noise inside the room but it was not pleasant to sit out on the verandah.
 
Hilton treat me very well... They always manage to have a bottle of body wash with hundreds and thousands waiting in the bathroom.

Out of interest what is the 'HMPV discount'
 
The Hilton Premium Club was rolled into a Macquarie Credit card, to form the Macquarie Hilton CC. There is a 20% discount on accom as well as tiered discounts on meals.

Think that V was meant to be C, thus HMPC (I would actually swap it around to MHPC)

It needs upgrading - you're not the first one to run into internet problems. Wi-Fi won't keep a signal from the 9th Floor Executive Rooms, and the Wired Internet is as slow as anything.
