Upgrade: King Hilton Executive
Received: Two bottles of water only

We arrived at the hotel this afternoon and I asked if a suite upgrade was possible. I was told I had already received an upgrade to an executive room so I asked about suite availability and was told I would have to pay for it! A family member who is Gold is also staying and received the same upgrade, so Diamonds don't mean much here:( (or maybe the receptionist is having a bad day). The welcome letter given to me at check-in explaining the executive benefits states that if opting for breakfast in the restaurant there is an additional cost of $25.00.

Millenium Hilton Seoul
Booked Deluxe King
Rate : Govt KRW 220,000 per night plus tax
Upgrade : Zip, nil, nada. Was advised at check-in that the hotel was full, that I was being upgraded to Exec Lounge Benefits ( say what !!!), finally that "Govt Rate is not eligible for upgrade". Hotel was full on website. Room was very average on an unrenovated floor, other guest smoking despite it being a no smoking floor. The next morning at brekkie in Exec Lounge I asked to move and was moved within 30 mins to a renovated room on Exec floor. I shouldn't have had to ask really. My impression of the staff at the front desk of this hotel is of very poor recognition of H Honors status. Exec Lounge and staff were very good and in retrospect I should have went there on check-in.

I am rapidly going off you!

I stayed there about five/seven times as a Diamond and only ever exec rooms - never a suite! I was generally staying for a week at a time - been much too long since I was there though...

That said, as I said to Bundy Bear, what do you do with all that room to yourself?

I queried this last time I was there and was told this applied to executive floor guests but only those without status. Will be back in Adelaide soon and curious to know how you get on.

Yep, same.

I was told that Gold and Diamond get free breakfast in the restaurant as well and to ignore the charge on the sheet.

I asked in the exec lounge last night and was assured we could choose to have breakfast in the restaurant instead.
So we enjoyed a great brekkie at The Brasserie this morning:D.
The cappuccino and service were excellent.

Peter in the exec lounge is a terrific host.

Sadly I only status matched to Virgin with I was QFF SG. Hence I am only Hilton Gold.
The posts above have confirmed my desire to continue down the Hilton path :)

Great pics PF

Day: Thursday - Tuesday
Rate: AAA $179 plus tax
Booked: King Guestroom Tower
Upgraded: King Exec Tower. Subsequently downgraded at my request to lower floor with nicer view as exec floor room very noisy.
Received: Continental breakfast in the lounge. 2 bottles of water. Free health club access (excellent club with olympic pool). Exec lounge b'fast was very limited but OK, no happy hour with free alcoholic drinks in lounge.

Property: Hilton San Diego Bayfront
Day: Thursday - Tuesday
Rate: $259 plus tax
Booked: Queen Guestroom
Upgraded: Ocean View Room on High Floor (Twin).
Received: 2 bottles of water. No exec lounge, amenities provided instead were a voucher for one drink and one food item at Starbucks (downstairs) each day, but there was a long line and a wait of up to 20 minutes. Alternative was a coupon for buffet breakfast for $10 (usually $24.00).
Also received a coupon for a free "tasting" at the bar which was a plate of cheese, crackers and olives.

It felt like this property was giving the minimum amenity to HH VIP's that it could get away with - it surely wouldn't hurt to give HH diamond members the b'fast buffet and a free drink each day in lieu of the lounge.
