How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Just to follow up on HSW.

Stayed last week, No card, no turndown.

Also, every time I quick checkout (ie 15 times this year) they put the mini bar through as a separate transaction (even though I wrote it on the mini bar section on the envelope) This a) lowers the amount of points I earn and b) results in lower expense claim and higher personal expense.
Some of us do not do quick checkout due to the issues that can come into play.

Two bottles of water daily, executive lounge access, choice of breakfast in the restaurant or in the lounge, Wi-Fi for multiple devices, one hell of a welcome gift (as pictured) and three welcome notes - a card from one manager (pictured), a letter from another (explaining the benefits on offer - pictured), and another one from one of the staff saying that they hope I enjoy the sweets and a direct contact number if I require anything during the stay (not pictured). This was in addition to the small welcome tent card sitting on the tray (pictured). The was also an offer of a free pressing service (one garment per day).

On making the reservation, the email confirmation had the hotel's address written in Chinese characters (for the taxi driver from the airport). Also, the GM emailed me a few days before my arrival to give me an early welcome, inform me that my upgrade had already been approved, and to offer assistance with booking airport transfers if needed. They also sent through the hotel's Chinese address again, this time on taxi cards that I could print and cut out (I decided not to bother as I already had the Chinese address from the first email, but I'm sure that this would help others who may not have remembered to bring that address with them).

During our stay, we dined at Chynna (hotel restaurant). Absolutely fantastic value - for only ~$120AUD total, my partner and I ordered the Peking Duck (half bird), rice, dumplings, chicken and pork dishes (shared), as well as a delicious bottle of French Sauv Blanc (I originally remembered the name, but was a little too tipsy at the end to remember it haha).

By far my best stay to date at any Hilton property!

One large bottle of water, executive lounge access, choice of breakfast in the restaurant or in the lounge, Wi-Fi for multiple devices, and a small box of Lindt chocolates. It seems that about a month ago, this property has now started charging $10 to Gold/Diamond to eat breakfast in the restaurant instead of the lounge... I'll have to compare the two when I next next stay there!

Yes I have this one on my list...they by all accounts are going all out to garner a name.

At HSW now on my first stay here. The hotel is totally full, but I got an executive king room which is perfect for my needs this trip. I was also able to check in at 9:30, which was appreciated.

Handwritten welcome card signed by Brett, with business card (including email and mobile) attached.

Executive lounge is great. I haven't dealt with Claire/Clare, but Alice is lovely.

Just left hsw
booked a yarra suite and a 2 bedroom suite
got 2 x2 bedroom suites
when I said I didn't regard 2 br as an upgrade from a yarra suite (after I pointed out what I had booked) there were no yarra suites available
to "compensate" me I got my 4 friends exec lounge access
got the water ,
note was in the other room

i think I did ok!

Elyor on check in and check out was great as well!

I didn't get a chance to deal with Jenny, but I did see her in the lounge and she seemed very competent! :)

Elyor also handled my check-in and check-out. He's the one that found a room for me soon after 9am (my welcome note even made it later in the day!) and remembered me when I checked out today.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with HSW. Great staff, great lounge. The breakfast spread would have to be among the best I've had in an executive lounge. The juicer was a very nice touch as I love having fresh juice in the morning! I enjoyed the dumplings and drinks in the lounge so much last night that I didn't even bother getting dinner.

Oh, and Rekordelig in the mini bar? I guess that's one way to guarantee extracting a charge from me

I completely agree - much as it was great to have the two room apartment when I stayed there with the family - the difference between that and a suite were measurable - the size of the amenities for a start, small sinks etc. I probably would have been making some sterner complaints.

Hotel: Hilton Canary Wharf London
Booked: DOUBLE HILTON GUESTROOM
Rate: Advance Purchase £76 per night
Nights: 3 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Received: KING EXECUTIVE (14 floor)

Upgrade from what I thought was a very cheap booking. Free wifi. Access to Executive Lounge with new room. Breakfast was included in room rate so option of breakfast in lounge or at the restaurant. I choose the lounge especially since they had notes up during the weekend saying expect delays in the restaurant when having breakfast.

Breakfast had wide selection of fruit, biscuit, pastries, toast and cereals. Added to this was hot food of sausages and scrambled eggs.

At 3 pm the lounge opens up the drinks cabinet, 6 pm they put on hot finger food and fruit, cheeses and desserts until 9 pm. Three PCs linked to a printer and a photocopier/fax. Staff were quick to offer help and liked to have conversations with guests.

The room was very good. First day I got a welcome letter, a donut and some popcorn and a newspaper. Everyday I got a turn down service and a chocolate.

Nice stay in a very good hotel at a very cheap rate with a great upgrade. Worth considering this hotel on weekends when you can get a good rate. Tube means you are close to anywhere.

Nice efficient check-in, room looks nice and modern and was good to get an upgrade to a river view room looking back out to Liverpool and funnily enough, only a stone's throw away.. the Hilton (e.g. it's the other thing I can see outside my window, taunting me) ;)

Received a letter from the GM too.

Hi All,

Is there a better chance for a good upgrade for HH GOLD at HSP or Hilton Brisbane??

Cheers,

First time I've e re stayed at an airport hotel you can walk to, and undercover at that. Choose this because train to CBD looked fast and cheap at 8€ return. Checkin confirmed my choose to receive free buffet breakfast instead of bonus 750 pts as gold status. I'm not sure why you'd go with the bonus points.

I was offered a free bottled water. Room was very good. It was the quietest room I had ever stayed at, obviously sound proofed due to airplanes.

The Gold included breakfast included a wide selection of fruit, biscuit, pastries, toast and cereals. Hot food included sausages, harsh browns and scrambled eggs. Cold meat and yogurts also available.

At the other end of the concourse from the hotel there as a mini market that offered food and drinks at normal German prices. This meant that say 200 metres from airport shops that charge around 2.50€ for a 500 ml coke you could get one for 0.89€ but most people wanted realise. Guessing prices are to allow office and airport workers not to be rotted like the rest of the travelling public.

Please tell me you at least had the signature HGI Waffles!!

If you have an early flight (esp. one that you need to check-in before breakfast opens for service), need to maximise sleep, or the airport lounge breakfast is equal to or better than the property (e.g. LH FCT ;)), then I'd forgo breakfast and take the points instead.

Interestingly, staying a week later this was my experience:

Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Upgraded: King Hilton Executive Room 24th Floor
Received: Executive Lounge Access, Free Wi-Fi. Originally thought there was no free water, but then found that there was a large bottle in where the tea and coffee facilities were with a tag saying "with compliments". Option of breakfast both downstairs in the restaurant and up in the lounge.

The hard product for Hilton Brisbane is not as exciting as other hotels like HSW or SYD. But in my experience their service is incredible. In contrast to NT2010's experience, check in was fast, efficient, recognised my status and made sure I was aware of all the facilities (pool, Executive Lounge, etc. with a sheet detailing when things are on). Executive Lounge has a small range, but the food is good, and the staff are outstanding. I loved hanging out up there.

I'm very happy with my stay there. NT2010, in my experience if there are problems, talk to the GM about it now - but the best time to fix problems is when you're staying there - Hilton's service recovery on the spot is often stunning!

all staff are friendly, any issues arise were solved quickly to satisfaction. we were a pain trying to get the best rooms we can each night and they were happy to do so. we were also happy with the temporary lounge venue and serivce. it only open from 3pm - 8/8.30pm. not as good as a proper one but atleast they tried.

only real issue was the room card and the card slot in the lifts were very difficult to operate. the HH points seems to credited incorrectly and will email tomorrow.

otherwise a very happy stay!
