How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Property: Pullman on the Park Melbourne

Well done ACCOR !!!!
I did say I "used to be Platinum" at check-in.... maybe they want me back?
D

Thats amazing Duffa. I'm there next week, wonder if they will do that to a genuine Platinum. Although given my recent track record, I'll be downgraded.

Just back from the Pullman on The Park Melbourne today, got upgraded to a corner suite albeit from a Premium Deluxe room (as Accor Platinum) so I guess that's no surprise...

BTW first time I stay at this hotel, very positive experience will definitely be back again :)

@duffa That's a nice upgrade - I'm gold and had no upgrade to exec lounge last week (did get a room on the top floor). Wouldn't mind a suite this week - agree on the Internet, slower than useless

Back to Accor after a recent run of IHG bookings (to achieve Accelerate 2016) I am reminded how different these two programs are.

I find that some IHG properties and staff really impress... I see Intercon as superior to most Accor offerings. But as an Accor plat I feel the love.

two stays this week:

Property:Mecure Albert Park Melbourne
Status: Platinum
Room Booked: (Part of Conf Booking, assumed standard queen)
Room Upgrade: Junior Penthouse
Room Rate: Unsure, booked on my behalf
Free Internet: yes, note in room on work being done so expect issues
Welcome Drink: Voucher in Welcome Pack
Early/Late CO: NA
VIP Treatment: bowl of fruit in room, upgrade room JNR Penthouse made not being booked into Pulllman less of a disappointment. Room was huge with multiple batrooms, living area, dining, full kitchen and belive it or not a sauna! on check out desk mentioned that if posible they will always flick plats from mecure to pullman, worth noting if there is a cheaper room going at the mecure. seem to be making an effort with status recognition compared to 12 months ago.

Property: Pullman on the Park
Status: Plat
Room Booked: Deluxe King
Room Upgrade: Cnr Suite 13th floor
Rate: flex $269pn
Internet: yes, didnt use
welcome drink: yes x2
early/late CO: not offer, not required
VIP Treatment: booked two other rooms for colleges and they carried my lounge access over to these bookings, nice touch. Plate delivered to room late afternoon (see below). First time staying here for years and like this hotel better than Novotel on Collins for Melbourne stays with accor. no breakfast in the exec lounge is the only disappointment.

I'm also at Pullman Melbourne on the Park and my review is essentially the same as all the others - AND I finally got a room upgrade to a corner suite!!! I've broken the non-upgrade curse!!

I am Platinum - ~60/80 nights per year at Accor hotels globally.

Pullman Hyde Park Sydney
Room booked: 1 x King Bed
Upgrade: no
Welcome drink voucher: no
VIP treatment: absolutely nothing. I mean nothing at all.

Back to the Sofitel I go. Really poor.

Very strange. I'm also Platinum and have been a few times to the Pullman Hyde Park.
Every single time I got upgraded (sometimes to a suite) & drink vouchers & access to the lounge & complimentary bottle of wine in the room & handwritten welcome note.

Whoever was at check-in must have had a really bad day, still you should have asked for the above benefits!
