How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

I'm still waiting on my PC status to come through - contacted Virgin almost a week ago. They replied they would follow up, but yet to hear anything further. At this rate, my status match will be concluded well before the hotel status arrives. . . . . .

Took about 2 weeks for me.

Any rhyme/reason in how long before complimentary hotel partner membership kicks in?

HiThought long about posting this, as I don't like my first post on this fantastic forum to be a negative one. So let's start with something positive: I think Velocity's family pooling is great, and the deal with Singapore Airlines which kicked in 5 days before Mr Sunburnt, Master Sunburnt and I flew to Europe on Singapore Airlines is excellent, especially for an irregular flyer like me!Not surprisingly, I reached gold somewhere during this trip. With a business trip to Southeast Asia planned in March, I opted in to Hilton Honours and Europcar on Feb 22. Not happy to then get an email saying it might take up to 20 business days to come through - that would take me nicely over the end of my trip... so an email sent off to Hilton Honours on March 8 to see if it could be sped up. A very polite and quick reply that unfortunately, they had not yet received anything from Velocity. Called Velocity, which confirmed that they had not sent anything yet, and that it was their systems which were slow. Filled out a feedback form on line, Velocity then replied that:
Once you have opted in, our partner will endeavour to send an email confirmation within 20 business days. You will then receive your partner welcome pack and membership card 30-40 business days from receipt of the confirmation email.[..] If you do not receive any correspondence after 20 business days, please let us know and we will be happy to follow this up with Hilton HHonors.
which made me wonder whether they read my email beyond a cursory glance. I followed up with another email, remaining polite of course, explaining that their own call centre and Hilton had stated that nothing had left Velocity yet. No reply to that email to date. I then wrote it off as not worth my time, and went on my business trip. Checked in last Friday in a Hilton property and unsurprisingly, no upgrade, no free breakfast/internet etc. Oh well. There are worse things in life. But here's what really got my goat: my colleague, whom I told about the complimentary membership on March 8, checked in at that same Hilton one day later. You guessed it, he got the upgrade to the Executive floor, the works. (And he is 'only' a matched Qantas gold - he didn't even fly with Virgin or Singapore Airlines ;)). My gold status has lost a bit of its shine....

Welcome to AFF. :D

That's unfortunate ... 20 business days ... I'll need to remember that when my BIB Diamond expires in 10 days - looking for bennies in later April.

Had your colleague applied for and/or received any status?

I couldn't wait - I jumped now even though my Gold hasn't expired yet (still got 10 days on it).

Hopefully it pulls together a bit quicker than expected.... and VA/HH aren't dumb to reset my status to nothing after promoting me for under 10 days (if the case may be so).

As posted up thread, I'm planning on KISS.

I applied for Diamond in August and got it through in October. But i was with the initial horde of others all doing it at the start of the benefit. Hopefully yours is far quicker.

Yes, he opted in through the Velocity website on March 8 (2 weeks later than I did...), but I think the first thing he found out about it was when he was upgraded on arrival in the hotel.

Still waiting after 5 weeks probably time to contact DJ

Not sure how successful it will be - I'm still waiting for an answer to my initial response. Seriously, if you're going to offer these things, ensure all parties involved are aware and follow-up on unfulfilled requests.

In fact, I'm rather over it - if it comes through great, but I'm not holding my breathe; think hell will freeze over before it comes through. . . . .

Have you tried PM'ing the Virgin representative on here?

It took me about 6 weeks to get the HHonors BLUE card... and then another two weeks to received the two correct ones (one was probably trigger by my complaint).

Just spoke to HH Diamond desk and they were very apologetic, understood what I was talking about immediately and extended my diamond through to 31 March 2014.

Just to follow up on this post, yesterday I received an email from HH congratulating me on achieving silver status .

Today I telephoned HH and was on the phone for about 1/2 hour and the guy firstly confirmed I would drop to silver, but then said he would read my account notes which then resulted in him placing me on hold for a fair while, while he looked into it. Finally he told me between he and his manager, they had no idea what the code was that was added to my account or why, but did inform me I would definitely retain diamond untill 2014. I asked why I had an email saying silver and he replied that was an automated email. The diamond was a manual addition which the automated system can't register........so to be honest, I assume I'll be diamond until 2014..........or not .

Has anyone else received their end of March emails yet? I still have not received my card either (ordered 3 times so far).

Oh yeah,

When I checked the mail on Friday my Priority Club Platinum Card arrived, totally even forgot about this Velocity Promotion, I signed up for it back when Platinum first launched!

I'm BIB diamond for another 6 days but have received no communication about anything, before or after March 31 ...

I also got the email about silver status.

My Diamond card came about two weeks back. Says expiry 3/2012.

I didn't however meet the stay requirement, so fully expect to drop back down per the terms of the promotion.
