How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

so if you obtain gold and apply for gold HH ( just did it to see if it workedthen get to plat do u re apply for diamond
Ill be diamond till april 13 but would like to then apply to keep it as I probably wont get there this year.

I'm BIB diamond for another 6 days but have received no communication about anything, before or after March 31 ...

Just had my usual HH statement no mention of expiry.
My Diamond card says expiry 2014 and HHonors have verbally confirmed this expiry date to me.
All good so far and I will easily meet the stay requirement

I also got the email about silver status.

My Diamond card came about two weeks back. Says expiry 3/2012.

I didn't however meet the stay requirement, so fully expect to drop back down per the terms of the promotion.

Now that's very interesting. Given I did meet the stay requirements, that could mean a couple of things.

1. The HH system isn't automatically recognising the DJ status match
2. The HH system is advanced enough to note the stay requirements and drop back regardless
3. You and I are just odd mistakes (I've often been called a mistake)

Coincidentally, my Diamond card turned up in the post this morning, with an expiry date of 03/2012 :?:, yet even as late as yesterday, HH has confirmed via the phone that I have Diamond until 03/2014 and my on-line account shows diamond as well (except we still haven't reached the end of March). Two years is a big difference!

Normally, I wouldn't be concerned so much except I've booked a stay where I've invoked the guaranteed reservation in a booked out hotel. I fear I'll turn up and be told sorry, gave your room away as you're not a diamond :shock:

Not relevant for me as BIB means I earned Diamond with 28 Stays or 60 nights or 100 base points. This was in 2010 and expires on Saturday as I did not re-qualify last year.

My intention is to active the DJ benefit next week (and I will easily have the four stays in the next few months).

This could possible go in a new thread but seems appropriate for here. Does anyone know if the complimentary status offers reset when your velocity requalification comes through. I already got to stabs as I took up the offers as Gold and then got them again when I went Platinum so just wondering what happens when I requalify ?

I applied for Diamond in August and got it through in October. (...) Hopefully yours is far quicker.

Update: I sent off an email to Velocity Gold last night (24 business days after opting in) and at CoB today received my welcome email from Europcar. What an amazing coincidence! No sign yet of Hilton HHonors.

Well two days later and I get another diamond card in the post.....this time with 03/2014 expiry. Anyone else had their end of March emails yet? I'll be convinced when I check on-line in April and confirm I'm diamond rather than silver!

Yes, that's what I want to see. Assuming all status changes will be made by end of March, if I do get dropped to silver, then it'll show in April. Well, that's my logic anyway.

Update from me:

I called Velocity not long after I lodged my request for Hilton HHonors comp. According to the agent I talked to, the requests for partner status are lodged to the partner once a week (in the case of Hilton HHonors, it's every Tuesday).

I just checked my account today and I'm a Diamond. w00t.


Now, this might be odd to ask since the answer is "obvious", but I won't get my new Diamond card by the time I leave for overseas (viz. in less than a week's time). I know my Diamond status will be recorded on my account, but will it be a problem if I don't have my Diamond status card (and instead carry my old and expired Gold card)?

My guess is "no", unlike airline status where being cardless can be a problem...

Shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve never been asked for my HHonors card during any stay.

Applied for the Hilton Diamond upgrade today...let's see how long it takes to be upgraded to Hilton Diamond.

For the benefit of others Account updated to Diamond overnight. So took 6 days including a weekend!

Received Diamond card 3 days ago with expiry, as expected, 3/14. Big thanks to all AFFers for posting the info above so that I will get 2 years' of Hilton Diamond status

Congrats! Just check and ensure your diamond status is the same account. Many on here had their status match develop into a new account. You don't want to be booking through your existing account only to realise later that diamond was a different one :shock:.

(PS. If it is a different account, you can merge them easily through the web site.)

Seems like they're still going slowly.

I got my e-mail from Virgin saying I'd applied for diamond comp status on the 25th of Feb and still haven't heard anything from Hilton a month on (I have no existing HH account). I'm mostly keen to get it before I head overseas in June/July, so I'm in no rush, just a shame they run so slowly. I've already booked half the nights with ICH now (though all flexible), just don't want too much stuffing around (I had thought I might try it out domestically in April some time since I've got 2-3 nights in hotels happening, but at this rate it won't happen).

Mine is OK. I supplied my HHonors number during the comp process, and I logged in last night to HHonors using my known credentials, and it said Diamond.

After posting yesterday that my card hadn't arrived after a bit over a month I checked my mail today and found it had recently arrived. Like you, I got a Blue card instead of the complimentary status (Plat in my case). I'll be phoning the Hilton number tomorrow hopefully and I expect they'll be able to sort it out.

Did you have HH before? I'm wondering if when an account is opened, the system automatically generates a blue card.
