How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

Hanging out in Hilton hotels and the Virgin thread here... But since I received a nice upgrade as a Gold a few weeks ago I thought I'd look into Hilton further now I am Diamond thanks to VA

My Status changed on the HHonors site from Diamond to Gold sometime after 4.00pm today. Only managed 21 stays last year. I've just used the Velocity offer for complimentary HHonors Diamond, so this should be a real bonus.
 
I suspect you're on to something there since I didn't have HH before. I did try logging in (closest I could see was to use the lost password option since I didn't get sent a pin or anything, but I guess Virgin doesn't give them/they didn't associate my e-mail address with the account). It'll be interesting to see what they say tomorrow/Tuesday.

For anyone wondering, I phoned HHonors who had no idea and said I'd need to talk to Virgin (they said there was no sign of any special offer or connection to Virgin Aus, just the creation of a basic new account).

I phoned Virgin who said a few people had phoned in today with this problem and it would need to go to a supervisor to be fixed but would be quickly. Got a phone call about thirty minutes later (which I missed) and a message asking for the HHonors number allocated to me, but they left an e-mail address for me to send it through to, so hopefully it will be sorted soon. I was looking at a stay in the next few weeks, but might just leave the four stays for my EU/USA trip in June-July which is what I was particularly keen to get it for.
 
Okay called Hilton to get password/pin they said they couldn't fix the status match problem.

Then called Velocity who took down my details to get it fixed. 24 hours later HHonors account upgraded to Gold.

In summary 5 weeks to get Blue membership and 24 hours for that to be fixed to right match level.
 
My account has been dropped to Silver.

At least it didn't go all the way to Blue :)
 
My Hilton Gold is scheduled to expire 03/2014. If I was to request the complimentary status provided by Velocity would this be extended by 12 months or would they offer Diamond?

Or nothing at all?

There's no benefit to you to take it up. As a VA gold, you are supposed to get HH gold, which you already have.
 
Now that VA got my match fixed so online it now says Gold HH instead of Blue HH I have a couple of questions:

1. Will Hilton send out a new Gold card

2. How do I work out expiry date? Can't find it online anyway. Assuming its Dec 2012 but read people talking about March / April expiry

1. Maybe. However, you'll never be asked to produce the card in my experience. You can request a new card online and see if that works.
2. If you receive a card, the expiry date is printed on the front (you won't find it online). You can always phone HHonors and ask them to tell you the expiry date.

Thanks didn't see the request a card option, I've give it a go. I'm used to the you must have the card approach of the lounges.

Booked first 2 stays last night so the match process has helped Hilton pick up a couple of bookings.
 
9 Days!

My status still shows as diamond - looking for a reset before making a submission....
Reset has occured - it was a bit of a shock to see silver status upon logging on after 7 years Gold/Diamond.

I really can't say as after an initial Gold comp in 2005 I maintained that status BIB until earning Diamond. Last year I didn't have enough stays, even for gold, so am awaiting demotion before invoking this velocity comp. ...

I've had the email inicating I had achieved Blue Status, and I am also just waiting to get demoted online.
No email, just Silver upon logging on (just the 11 stays last year).

Request for DJ comp. Diamond now sent - hopefully it come through by April 27th ...
I fired up my Award Wallet account and asked for a bulk update - amongst the result came back still HHonors Diamond. Well, that's what it said before the update in any case ... but I noticed the point level was rather contemporary.

So I check my HHonors account directly and, indeed, my upgrade has come through. :cool::mrgreen:

Finally needed to use the complimentary HH Gold "upgrde" as I fell to Silver from 31/3. Phoned the CS Centre and was answered by a lovely girl stating the "Gold Membership Line" (IIRC) and 2 minutes later after giving my membership number, got the confirming email from Velocity:

Why did you call, you can do all this from the Velocity website, avoids having to speak to someone... :)

It's been 18 working days for me and no email from Hilton, so I'll call them in the next day or two as I have several stays starting in a few weeks. I did receive the auto email from Velocity, as per above, though!

Will be interested to see if you get any contact from Hilton...

I seem to miss most email confirmations from Hilton so perhaps the "welcome email" went missing.

I signed up about the 4 or 5 April as I dropped from Hilton Gold to Silver on the 31 March, and I was comped in about 10 days.

Tried on both my laptop and iPhone but gave me errors on page - something to do with having an old OS :o (just ask Bundy Bear for a clearer explanation, it's beyond me)
It's been 18 working days for me and no email from Hilton, .
I'll hope for 10 days like Bundy Bear - hope you get yours fixed soon!

I signed SWMBO for HH Diamond on the 1st April and nothing yet.

As posted above it took 9 days for my comp to show up on line.

I still have not receive an email from HHonors confirming - although I did receive a Silver Card in the post last week. :p

Is there an easy way to find out if the comp went through? I'm not a previous HH user and did the comp request online.
